Amazon Kindle eBook Reader - A New Friend

Before the new Amazon Kindle ebook reader, my first and favorite ebook reader was my trusty old Palm IIIc pda. Remember those? With that little friend I could do lots of different activities, BUT without a doubt, the single, most enjoyable activity in which it supported me, was as a simple ebook reader.

Learning and staying current with my new career as an internet marketer, has meant doing lots of reading, usually from ebooks downloaded from the internet. Many times I've "Hotsynced" the latest digital ebook over onto my Palm for reading anytime, anywhere I wanted.

After all, my favorite place to read is NOT in front of my PC. I spend enough time there already! (grin)

This new Amazon Kindle, however, just might replace my Palm as an ebook reader.

It performs all the reader functions of my old Palm IIIc, AND a whole lot more.

Do you have an "old ebook reader friend"?

As useful as it may have been, take a look at this new Amazon Kindle ebook reader. You just may decide to pick up a new reader friend.

My Kindle Review

Five Reasons Why I like The Kindle

Everyone has an opinion about most subjects, and the Amazon Kindle is no exception. Just do a Google Search on Kindle and you'll see what I mean.

Here's a short list of why I like it so much.

  1. Easy to use and lighter than a typical paperback book - weighs in at slightly more than 10 ounces.

  2. The Kindle is Wireless. It uses the same high-speed network as advanced cell phones, so you can get on-line, whether riding down the road or lying in bed.

Neat huh? You can buy a book and it is delivered to your Kindle in a minute or less, all without you having to be near your computer.

  3. Reading material galore! There are currently more than 130,000 books, newspaper and blog subscriptions all available for download.

  4. The Kindle has lots of memory to hold all this information! It has about 180 mB of built-memory, enough for about 200 books.

By using an SD card, you can get up to an additional 8 gB storage, which is great for audio files.

  5. And, the Kindle has plenty of battery power and endurance for all your reading.

With the wireless turned off, read for a week or more between recharging, then leave it on the charger for a couple hours and it's ready to go again.

Do You Need More Kindle Details?

Well, Do You Like Kindle Or Not?

Great lens! Amazon Kindle is a great product. The problem with ebooks in the past is that you have to read them from your computer screen. The Kindle has solved this problem. It has also opened up a opportunity for people who wish to sell ebooks. See my lens http://www.squidoo.com/kindlepublishing

Ever since I first saw the Kindle I've been thinking about getting it for my Mother for Christmas. She loves books but is terrified of technology. I'm just thinking of all the trees that would be saved and the loss of stinky books crammed into bookshelves!

Okay, the Amazon Kindle isn't the only game in town. In fact Amazon and Sony are head to head in attempting to capture the digital ebook reader market, and Sony's latest offering is the PRS-505.

About eBookReader

I've been an avid ebook reader for a long time. My old favorite ebook reader has been my Palm IIIc. I'd "HotSync" my favorite .pdf files over on it and away I'd go - anywhere I wanted away from my PC. But this Kindle "takes the cake". Will it ever take away my affection for the old Palm? Well...each to an era.
