Why you need American accent training

Just like any country, the US has many different versions of one American accent. There are lots of different types of people in America from all over the world, and who have different accents, but if you can master the tone of people from the united states - they will appreciate it!

Nothing says that you care more about a country, than to learn their language extremely well. American accent training can help you get a better job, build wonderful friendships and relationships, understand the culture better, and make the simple things a lot easier. Even if you just plan to visit the US, having the right accent can make your time here a lot of fun, and give you a challenge to be proud of.

Most importantly, when you learn a new language and how to speak it properly, it helps you connect with those people. It helps you to become very well liked, and can make your time in that country very enjoyable.

At the end of the day, nothing beats an American accent course. These can cut down on frustrations and time!

What makes American accents different?

In the United States, the way most people speak is much flatter than other dialects. In most cases, we don't use as much of our tongue or mouths to pronounce certain words as in other countries. In England for instance, they elongate (lengthen) vowel sounds. Here, we keep them very short and crisp.

In most other English speaking countries, a person will put the emphasis in the middle of a word, where as American's run it together. Here is an example. Let's take the word "creation"

British accent: Cre-A-tion
Australian accent: cre-a-tion
American accent: cre-ation

This is why most American accents are very flat in tone. We tend to pronounce, but "blend" the word, without making certain sounds stand out. In some parts of the country the word would be very shortened, though this isn't really proper.

Example: crA-tion

Here is another great example of American pronunciation.

An Australian might say Ol-str-A-lia
An American would be flatter and say Aww-stralia

The importance of speaking American accents

A lot of people like to make fun of the American accent, and that's OK, but a lot of people also find it difficult to speak. It can be very precise and subtle, but if you master it, it could help you learn other English accents as well.

Its difficult to say that there is only one accent that we speak with. We have many variations of the one. Still, that one American accent is the place to start with and will make people from the USA relate to you better. In most places in the United States, regardless of what other people say, we tend not to make fun too much of other accents, because even American born people have MANY different accents.

Some are quick, some are slow, some are rough, and some are beautiful sounding. Can anyone learn to speak an American accent? I think so. You just have to listen closely, but with the right American Accent training, anyone can learn to follow closely. Below is a wonderful demonstration.
