American Express Business Credit Card Offer for everyone

American Express offers a variety of business credit cards, ranging from those fit for small businesses to cards that benefit large corporations. Foreign countries are just as respectful of business cards as with personal cards, and in many cases, the benefits are even better. If your business or the company that employs you requires consistent travel, there may be more rewards available than when each employee uses his or her own credit card. For example, the Platinum Business FreedomPass Credit Card from American Express, each card earns points toward rewards, including free travel and accommodations. So if twelve employees have copies of the FreedomPass Credit Card, the business is rewarded twelve times over.
Charging into credit card options
As demand for Visa shares was extremely high, the firm announced Thursday that underwriters exercised their 10% over-allotment option to purchase an additional 40.6 million shares of its Class-A common stock at $44 per share. This is in addition to the original offering of 406 million shares.
Visa now expects net proceeds from the offering (including the over-allotment option, and after deducting underwriting discounts and commissions and estimated offering expenses) to be approximately $19.1 billion--well above the $11 billion record set by the AT&T Wireless IPO.
On its first day of trading, Visa jumped more than 28%; it continued its rally Thursday, adding another 13% to the share price. However, concerns linger that hopes may be too high for the security. Heading into the company's IPO, Wall Street analysts and pundits were singing the company's praises. Analysts called the stock "priceless," a "ray of hope for the IPO market," and a "gift for the market."
From a contrarian perspective, this exuberance on an untested stock raises a red flag: Can the stock actually live up to these high hopes? If it can't, there is a significant danger of a sharp pullback as disappointed investors sell off their shares.
American Express and Delta Introduce Pay with Miles Feature: Use Miles to Book Any Delta Seat, Any Time
"We are delighted to partner with Delta to offer this new SkyMiles program feature exclusively to our premium American Express Delta SkyMiles Cardmembers," said Pam Codispoti, senior vice president and general manager, American Express. "We have enjoyed a long and successful relationship with Delta providing value to our mutual customers. This exclusive feature adds unprecedented access to Delta flights using Miles, providing our Cardmembers with more flexibility and control over their travel and payment options."
The Pay with Miles feature is an additional option that complements Delta's existing award travel options. Cardmembers can pay with Miles for any Delta seat, in any class of service, on any route. Cardmembers can use all the Miles in their SkyMiles bank, not just those earned by spending on their credit card.
To use the feature, Cardmembers log on to www.delta.com using their SkyMiles number and pin; search for the flights; and select the flight they desire with the Pay with Miles icon. Once the itinerary is chosen, Cardmembers can pay for all of the ticket with Miles; or can pay for some of the ticket with Miles and the balance with their American Express Gold or Platinum Delta SkyMiles Credit Card. Pay with Miles can be used for multiple tickets on the same itinerary.
Digital Pickpocketing at Black Hat %u201808
A guy named Adam Laurie who is considered an expert in RFID (radio frequency identification) can read the data on any smart chip enabled credit card. He's been developing a Python script that he demonstrated at the conference. The Python script allows Adam to retrieve the account number, the account holders name, and the expiration date from a card in someones wallet.
It's a scary thought that no matter where you keep your wallet, in your front pocket chained to yourself it doesn't matter, pickpocketing is now taking a digital form. This is not only a problem for smart chip credit cards, but could pose a threat to anything that uses RFID.
How to get the credit you deserve
Steve Willey, of Moneysupermarket.com, the price comparison website, says that if the move was to stop further credit-card spending by riskier Egg customers it should be applauded. But he adds that if it also targets many who pay their balance in full, it is disappointing.
Either way, the announcement at the end of January left many of the internet bank's consumers anxious to find a new provider.
When choosing a credit card, there are two factors to bear in mind, says David Black, of Defaqto, the financial analyst: "Firstly, what you want from a card and how you use it will determine whether you opt for a balance transfer, introductory purchase, standard rate or cashback card." The second factor - increasingly important as the credit crunch takes hold - is your credit rating.
Mr Black adds that customers can best take advantage of the deals by taking out separate cards for balance transfers and continuing purchases. This, he explains, avoids getting stung by a ploy known as "allocation of payments" or "payment hierarchy", where your repayments are applied to the lowest debt first.
For standard-rate cards, Ms Slade suggests Barclaycard's Simplicity Visa with a purchase APR of 6.8 per cent and the flat-rate Mastercard from Intelligent Finance at 8.9 per cent.
Another option for customers who clear their card each month is a cashback card. Mr Black picks out American Express's Platinum Moneyback credit card with an introductory 5 per cent cashback for three months on spending of up to £4,000 a year, and standard cashback of 0.5 per cent on spending of up to £3,500 a year. Elsewhere, Mr Slade chooses Capital One's card offering cashback of 1 per cent a year on spending of up to £2,000.
In the longer term, Mr Black says that changes to the credit-card market could include providers introducing monthly or annual fees: "Aside from Egg, one or two providers have already toughened up. Lloyds, for example, started levying a 1 per cent fee on 'low-usage' customers about a year ago, and other providers may do the same. Egg is not the first, or the last, to crack down on customers."

AmEx Warning Heightens Economic Concerns
American Express Co. (AXP: 42.77, -1.73, -3.88%) rattled Wall Street after saying it expects to take a $440 million pre-tax fourth-quarter charge to cover losses caused by credit card holders who haven't paid their bills.
The announcement prompted new fears of a pending recession.
American Express Chief Executive Kenneth I. Chenault blamed the $440 million hit on the U.S. housing crunch, and noted that the pain will likely spread in 2008. The company's shares tumbled nearly 10% Friday, leading a broad selloff.
Mortgage defaults hit record highs in 2007, and the bleeding quickly spilled over into auto loans, which also saw record default rates last year. And last week phone company AT&T said it disconnected more than 450,000 residential lines in the third quarter due to delinquent payments.
Analysts said it was just a matter of time before credit card companies began to feel the pinch.
"I'm not surprised. What's happened is that the piggy bank has run dry," said Lita Epstein, a credit expert and author of the recently published "Complete Idiots Guide to Improving Your Credit Score."
Epstein explained that in recent years, as the value of U.S. homes steadily climbed, many Americans got in the habit of using their home equity lines of credit to pay off big credit card bills.

Get Tips for American Express Gift Cards
American Express today launched a consumer awareness campaign in select markets to help consumers get the most out of the American Express® Gift Cards they receive this holiday. Most Americans can expect to receive at least one gift card this holiday, according to the American Express Gift Card Survey.American Express is encouraging consumers to be smart with their Gift Cards:
Know your balance. Just like you need to remember your parking space at the mall, you need to remember how much you have left on your Gift Card. Jot down the balance somewhere - even if it's on the packaging slip that the Gift Card came in. You can also keep track on the Web by entering your American Express® Gift Card number on website.
Go use it. Someone gave you a Gift Card so you could splurge on yourself. Redeem your card sooner rather than later. Keep it safe and in your wallet, ready to redeem for that special gift when you find it.
Show the cashier. When you're ready to use your Gift Card, let the cashier know right away how much you plan to pay with the Gift Card, and if you plan to pay some other amount with cash or another kind of card. The cashier is going to have a check-out system to accept the gift card, and it's different in each store. Know more about Blue Cash from American Express. You want to get through that check-out line quickly, and everyone behind you does too. Telling the cashier upfront that this will be a Gift Card transaction will help everything go smoothly.
Recipients of the American Express Gift Cards can also take advantage of special offers when redeeming the Gift Card at best-of-brand retailers, restaurants and merchants. Details of the special offers program are available at american express website. Offers are subject to change without notice.
The Centurion Card, dubbed "the black card"
That's because the offer of free travel insurance will more than make up for an increase in annual fees. But for those with the means to pay for the ultimate credit card experience, there's the Centurion Card, dubbed "the black card".
Issuers American Express have just begun re-issuing the invitation-only card on titanium metal in a further bid to set it apart. "It's the only metal card in the world,".
American Express Credit Card Application
There are a few different kinds of credit card applications you can fill out. There are those for companies, those that go through your bank, and then ones that are for specific department stores. Credit cards that are directly from companies such as American Express will most likely ask you for the basic information, name, date of birth, if you own or rent your place of residence. They will also ask you for your annual household income, and what types of rewards if any that you want. Then there are the applications for credit cards through your bank. Now these ask the basic same questions, and sometimes there is an option to have the money automatically take from your account, or you can simply pay a small amount every month. Lastly there are the department store credit cards. Usually on the application they ask you for your bank account information to ensure you have a means of paying the bill. The questions on all credit card applications are generic and usually the same. Please click here to compare and apply for American Express Blue Credit Card.

The Titanium card
The Titanium card replaced the previous plastic "black" American Express charge card. The new titanium card is still black in colour and also retains the "Centurion" title as the most elite charge card that American Express issue by invitation only. The annual fee incresed in Australia this year to 4,300 dollars per annum. Annual spend in excess of 250,000 is required with the account paid in full each month. There are thought to be less than 10,000 cards in circulation worldwide.
0 percent credit card balance transfer
You can save hundreds of dollars by using 0% credit card balance transfer. Many credit card companies provide 0% credit card balance transfer offers and by moving old car to new one with at least 6 month 0% credit card balance transfer. By transfer balance high interest rate to low one and get a break on the interest. The major issuers of credit cards, Visa, MasterCard, Amex, American Express and Discover, do not penalize for transferring balances, so transfer your balance to a lower interest credit card or one with a low introductory interest rate, or get a credit card debt consolidation loan. American Express has one such credit card with no balance transfer fees it is called Clear from American Express You see, what the big credit card issuers like American Express , Chase, Discover Card and Bank of America are hoping is that they will gain new customers by offering generous balance transfer deals. Also, what these credit card companies know is that the vast majority of these card holders will not pay off their balances before the introductory rate expires. Of course, if you can't pay off your balance before the introductory rate expires, you're not out of luck. You can always apply for a new credit card with a low introductory rate, and transfer your balance yet again. Still, if you are currently considering a credit card balance transfer I urge you to sit down and figure out exactly how much you owe on your current charge cards and set up a monthly pay schedule. American Express Centurion black card is the world's most exclusive card
American Express Centurion black card which, the company claims, is "the world's most exclusive card . . . designed to meet the needs of the super-affluent". But there is a catch. Money alone cannot guarantee you the shiny black card. Instead you must wait to be invited to apply. Gail Hodges, the director of UK premium cards at American Express, explains: "A select group of our members, who are high spenders and regular users of the benefits that American Express offers, are invited to hold the Centurion card." They face a stiff charge of £650 a year for the privilege. If you prefer credit to charge cards, the high street banks offer black credit cards, plus perks, if you manage to fall into the "high net worth" category.
At Lloyds TSB, for example, private banking clients who earn at least £250,000, or who have more than £250,000 of savings and investments, are eligible for its Private Banking American Express credit card which costs £250 a year. The interest rate is a modest 10.4 per cent, but once the annual fee is included, the APR rises to 45.2 per cent. Customers have free access to a concierge service which would normally cost £120 a month.
NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland charge 11.2 per cent on their black credit card, which also offers concierge services, for those who earn at least £75,000 a year. Include the £250 annual charge, however, and the effective rate rises to a staggering 50.3 per cent.
At Barclays and HSBC, the perks are more limited. Barclays has two black cards. Customers who earn at least £100,000 can have the Infinite card, which provides travel insurance and access to concierge services, but only allows six visits a year to an airport lounge. The annual fee is £150.
Customers of Barclays Private Bank who have at least £500,000 of assets, get a black charge card at no extra charge, but there are no free perks.

Amex provides credit card loans
Amex--issues the cards, provides credit card loans, and processes the transaction. Now, you can invest all the money in the world to build an extensive closed-loop network, but you still won't make a dime if nobody uses your cards. This is where American Express' strong brand and spend-centric business model come into play, as a key factor in the success of any card network is giving each cardholder a reason to use the card. American Express provides cardholders with qualitative and monetary rewards to encourage them to use the card as much as possible, creating what I think is a virtuous cycle for the company. Cardholders desiring to use the Amex credit card as much as possible forces merchants--who want customers to buy as much as possible--to accept the card and pay American Express' higher rates. Finding the perfect one may be hard
There are hundreds and hundreds of searches for credit cards. Finding the perfect one may be hard for some to do. Researching a card and finding the best rate for some is a hassle. Looking for a good credit card and choosing the right one for many is a dreadful task. Searching for a good credit card and knowing what to choose can be confusing if one does not know how to research. Looking for the perfect card can take time. To make a search effortless many sites have been developed to help customers trying locate the perfect card. Many of these site help customers find a credit card company that offers the best deals around. In which these sites are most helpful for applicants searching ways to narrow down their search. By narrowing down the search applicants are able to discover the best cards rated as the top ten best choices of customers searching the net.And be aware, companies offering 5% cash back usually have restrictions. Take the Amex Blue Cash card, the commercial says it gives you 5% cash back at supermarkets, gas stations, and drugstores, but only after you've spent $6,500 at these locations.
Rewards still come in points
Consumer Reports urges people to be aware that card companies offering 5 percent cash back on purchases usually have restrictions. The American Express Blue Cash card, for example, offers 5 percent back only after a cardholder has spent $6,500 at supermarkets, gas stations and other locations. Likewise, the Discover Open Road card gives 5 percent back on gas and car maintenance only for the first $1,200.
American Express understands snob value
What you need is a credit card that works for you. If you are in debt on your card you need to think about transferring the balance to another credit card, one that offers interest free credit on balance transfers.

A chirp or beep indicates the card has been successfully read. Not having to swipe the magnetic strip on payment cards cuts down on overall transaction time, according to research conducted by credit card organizations, including Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit card, and purchases under $25 do not require customer signature.

StarCite and American Express today announced the development of an integrated meetings management system
Customers, who must be clients of both companies to access the system, also will be able to have meeting charges broken down into spend categories and have access to unbilled card information in order to catch erroneous charges pre-billing.
StarCite and American Express expect to roll out the system, in development for four months, in additional phases next year, beginning in March.
The system "really takes a lot of disparate processes that meeting planners are trying to do and pulls them together in an online environment," said Shelle Santana, vice president of global corporate card marketing for American Express.
Question about lower rate affect the interest rate the credit card company
The rate cut is a good thing if you're a credit card holder. If you have a variable rate card, you could see your interest rate go down slightly. That could save you hundreds of dollars if you have a very high balance.
But for the vast majority of people, this won't mean substantial savings. This cut will only save about $2 per month on a $5,000 credit card balance.
To find out if you're credit card is adjustable, your best move is to call the issuer and find out. Remember, credit card companies can raise their interest rates at any time, but it can take up to two or three billing cycles before you see any decreased interest rate.
And don't forget you can always negotiate a lower rate. If your credit is good, and you haven't called your issuer to negotiate a better rate in the last six months, call them to try to lower your rate.

New features of American Express Membership Rewards program
The idea is great: As you know, you can transfer AmEx points into more than a dozen airline and hotel programs, but until now, you had to search each program individually to see if you could find a seat or room. And if you've tried that recently, you know what a struggle it can be-especially for scarce frequent flyer seats. So the ability to search all the options for seats or rooms before you transfer is extremely attractive. Bravo to AmEx for a great idea.
American Express launched a co-branded American Express gold card with a local air carrier

American Express Bank Ltd, the third-largest US credit card network, yesterday launched a co-branded American Express gold card with a local air carrier, saying it remained confident about Taiwan's credit card market and would target the upscale segment in particular.
The credit card, issued jointly with EVA Airways Corp (%u9577%u69AE%u822A%u7A7A), the nation's second-largest carrier, was the first of its kind American Express has launched in the last 18 months since standards for card applications became more strict, Tiffany Chen (%u9673%u6DD1%u82AC), public affairs manager at the bank, said in a telephone interview yesterday.
Like its local and foreign rivals, Chen said, American Express would continue issuing new credit cards in Taiwan, as the market has gradually recovered from the unsecured consumer lending problem.
"But we will be more prudent in reviewing applications and will develop new credit payment products appealing to high-income and high-spending customers," Chen said.
In Taiwan, many local banks reported weakened profitability in the past two years owing to a sluggish domestic credit market, forcing them to shift focus to syndication loans, trade finance and cash management to improve bottom lines.
In the first eight months of the year, the credit card revolving balance totaled NT$2.53 trillion (US$77.7 billion), down NT$984 billion, or 28.1 percent, from NT$3.51 trillion for the same period last year, data on the Banking Bureau's Web site showed.
However, the data provided by the bureau, which falls under the Financial Supervisory Commission, showed the total credit payments amounted to NT$944.5 billion, an increase of NT$17.1 billion, or 1.85 percent, from NT$927.5 billion a year earlier.
"The government data showed that despite a drop in the revolving balance, the purchasing power of upscale customers remains strong, as evidenced by the rising credit payment figures," Chen said.
The financial regulator said last week that indicators showed the nation's credit card business was stabilizing.
Based on the commission's latest figures, the number of active credit cards grew by 60,000 cards, or 0.31 percent, to 19.62 million in August from the previous month.
Even so, Chen declined to offer an estimated target for the new co-branded card with EVA Airways, saying that American Express would focus on the average spending per card rather than the number of cards issued.
"The average spending per American Express card(Blue Cash from American Express) is about NT$20,000, which is four times larger than the market average of between NT$5,000 and NT$6,000 per card," Chen said.
American Express had 151,142 credit cards in circulation in Taiwan as of July, with 94,809 cards in active use, Bank Bureau data showed.

Many versions of American Express, MasterCard and Visa offer no-cost collision coverage when you use one of their cards for the rental. All of the card agreements I've seen say that the card includes LOU coverage. But card coverage isn't as foolproof as it sounds.
Visa says compensation for each LOU claim is "evaluated on the specific circumstances and merits of the claim. The policy's underwriter will work hard on behalf of the cardholder to reach a fair and equitable settlement such that the LOU amount is considered reasonable and therefore covered by the policy."
American Express and MasterCard, on the other hand, say they do not pay LOU charges unless the rental company provides a vehicle log. Because some rental companies - including Hertz - say they do not and will not share that information with the card issuers, presumably renting with either of those cards risks not being compensated.
American Express credit cards are a really convenient way to make a purchase
Having a visa card is almost indispensable in today's twenty-four hours and age. Why, since I obtained my American Express credit card(Blue Cash from American Express), I have got been able to partake of a broad assortment of commodity and services, and that is no joke.Without that America express credit card(Blue Cash from American Express), I was not able to fall in the local gym, to tell t-shirts off of the Internet, to modesty a airplane ticket online - and that is just a few of the basics.

All across the country and the world, people are using their Visa, Mastercard card, or American Express credit card to make purchases with money that they do not have got for commodity which they may not need.
Although American Express credit cards are a really convenient manner to do a purchase - get it now and concern about it tomorrow - it makes come up at a heavy cost. Credit card debt is mounting everywhere. It is true that credit debt is one of the biggest problems that is facing America today, and it is no riant matter. That is one of the chief grounds why I had to call off my American Express credit card in the first place.
Once I had the powerfulness to purchase points without farewell with my money immediately, I was almost unstoppable disbursement machine. I would charge everything and anything on my American Express credit card, and soon the costs would spiral out of control.
I was dealing with a debt that I could not possibly pay for, and I was literally in a state of panic. I actually had to travel through a debt refinancing service to get my credit card debt into some word word form of a manageable form where I could trust to pay it.
The whole state of affairs was a nightmare. Now, give thanks goodness, I have got gotten my debt paid off and canceled my American Express credit card. A batch of people would believe that it is wrong to fault it on the American Express credit card, but I believe that they make not understand something about human psychology.
When I had to pay with everything in cash, I would cognize just what I had at any given time. But like I said before, the American Express credit card made everything manner too easy. I could pass money like water, and before I knew it, it was all gone.

American Express, of New York, said third-quarter profit rose to $1.07 billion
American Express also attributed the greater loss provisions at the core U.S. card unit - which rose to $638 million from $442 million a year earlier - to " strong growth" in loans outstanding. But some analysts caution that the crunch that started in the home-loan market is starting to seep into cards and other consumer-credit sectors.
"The hefty expected losses in the mortgage sector can't happen in a vacuum," Lehman Brothers analyst Bruce Harting wrote in a note earlier Monday. "It is just a matter of time before problems spill over to other loan sectors in consumer finance, most notably credit cards." The analyst cut his rating on American Express shares to equal weight from overweight, citing potentially slowing consumer spending in the U.S. as well as weakening credit quality.
American Express, of New York, said third-quarter profit rose to $1.07 billion, or 90 cents a share, from $967 million, or 79 cents a share, a year earlier. Revenue net of interest expense grew to $6.95 billion from $6.27 billion. Analysts polled by Thomson Financial expected a profit of 85 cents a share.
The latest results include a $75 million tax benefit related to tax items from the previous year, and an $81 million charge related to the sale of American Express International Deposit Co. In September, the company agreed to sell its international banking unit, American Express Bank, to Standard Chartered PLC ( STAN.LN) for $1.1 billion.

American Express credit cards offer you several choices
The Blue credit card from American Express is currently a personal card that has no annual fee. They also offer you a pretty great rewards program for travel. They are also offering a 0% interest rate for fifteen months. This all sounds pretty good, but what will happen after the introductory period is over? Sometimes credit cards will then offer an extremely high APR and have extreme late fees. With American Express you are probably looking at the average rate of somewhere around 15.24% after the introductory rate, but this could change over the next few months.
