Samantha Parkington is the American Girl doll from 1904.
She is one of four of the historical dolls with a best friend, whose name is Nellie O'Malley and who is actually a servant in her house. Samantha's family is upper class, and Nellie's is lower class, but that doesn't stop these two girls from becoming fast friends. Samantha is an orphan being raised by her grandmother to be a "proper young lady", as defined in the early 20th century. Despite their differences in class, Samantha is determined to be true to her friendship with Nellie, even though it causes some conflicts with others.
She is one of the three original American Girl historical dolls, along with Molly and Kirsten.
Samantha has had one of her stories told in the form of a movie, named "Samantha - An American Girl Holiday", and is sure to be a Christmas classic.

- If they have 18 inch dolls,you can buy clothes or accessories for them...you can get them for cheap at amazon 18 inch doll clothes.

- What a sales gimmick!!!!! Have been surfing eBay and see how outragous the prices are for the items I never had the opportunity to purchase. Do you suppose an artificial demand was intentionally created by removing Samantha from the collection? Sure looks like it to me. I would NEVER consider buying another series since I was burned so badly by this "retirement". BOOO to American GIrl Company!
