An amazing painting, and great to see that it is still causing people to think. All of these parodies show that people are engaging with a classic art work. Great lens by the way.
  • SandyPeaks Apr 3, 2011 @ 1:34 pm | delete
Funny how this painting haunts us! I always thought it was odd; obviously it strikes many people this way!

  • Rewards4life Feb 8, 2011 @ 1:59 pm | delete
Fantastic lens, such a iconic image. I can't believe the amount of times it has been parodied, there are some ones here which I have not seen before, very funny. I'm glad you have given some links about the history, it's one of those pictures I have seen many times and never really read up about it. Thank you

My favorite one is the vintage gothic cats brooch. I used to work for Grant Wood Area Education Agency in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Great spoof lens.
  • Jodi Oct 2, 2010 @ 5:11 pm | delete
Thought your site might have pictures of the sculptures around Cedar Rapids back in 2001. I have some of them, but looking for additional photos and how many there were.

Missing 'Canadian Gothic', from an old Molson Canadian advert. The Lady was in a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey and the Man in a Montreal Canadians jersey, holding a hockey stick instead of a pitchfork.
