Danielle "Danni" Roundtree, who was named Miss New York USA 2008. She lives in Queens and sings in jazz clubs, according to reports.

Jennifer Korbee: Jennifer Korbee, madden name Jennifer Peterson-Hind is an actress and country music singing hopeful. She starred in the children show "Hi-5%u2033 and has worked on two country albums. She has made it into the Hollywood rounds and into the American Idol Season 8 Top 50 along with her talented husband Tom Korbee.

Husband Tom Korbee:
Tom Korbee is a Cincinnati-born singer/songwriter, and has been recording an original pop/rock dual-disc album with Sound Image Entertainment and playing clubs in and around LA. Tom is a Founding member of the Garson Theatre Company in Santa Fe.

Recent theatre credits include: Jedediah Schultz in The Laramie Project, "the young man" in the world premiere off-Broadway cast of Showtune: The Jerry Herman Songbook at the York Theatre, the Helen Hayes Theatre, and in the Original Cast Album; Ralph Clark in Our Country's Good (Dir. Nick Mangano); Woody in Six Degrees of Separation; Alonso in The Tempest; John in Fifth of July; Adam in As You Like It; and Jeremy Finch (u/s) in To Kill a Mockingbird at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.

As a writer, Tom has created and starred in two original musicals, Shades and Will It Ever Stop Raining? (Dir. Richard Hess). Tom has a BFA in Drama from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.

On September 19, 2006, Malakar auditioned for American Idol in Seattle, with his 19-year-old sister Shyamali, and both received invitations to the Hollywood round. However, Shyamali was cut from the show at the end of the round.

Malakar cited Stevie Wonder as his idol, and sang one of Wonder's signature songs, "Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours)" at his Seattle audition. For his performance as a finalist, Malakar performed "Ain't No Mountain High Enough." The judges have been largely critical of his performances since the audition, though Simon Cowell admitted that Malakar is popular with the voters while Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul gave a more positive appraisal of his "You Really Got Me" performance in the Top 11.

On March 27, Malakar sang No Doubt's "Bathwater" wearing a fauxhawk made from multiple ponytails. The style was called the "ponyhawk" by host Ryan Seacrest. While singing, Malakar forgot some of the words to the song. The following night, host Seacrest walked out on stage wearing a wig with the same hairstyle, parodying Malakar.

On April 3, Tony Bennett was the featured celebrity on the show, and he met with each performer. Malakar sang "Cheek to Cheek," wearing a white suit, donning a slick hairstyle (with a recent cut), and dancing with judge Paula Abdul.

On the April 4 results show, it was revealed that Malakar had finished in the "middle three," among nine contestants.

Malakar's performance of "Bésame Mucho" in the Top 8 on April 10 was his first universally praised performance by the judges in the finals of the competition. Randy Jackson commented, "You're one of the smartest contestants I've ever met. That was actually really good. It was.", while Simon Cowell offered the halting, "I'm going to hate myself for this. It wasn't horrible." The judge's stunned reaction made it seem they finally understood Sanjaya's style of making a tribute to a song as opposed to making everything a vehicle for his vocalization.

Jennifer Lopez said, "I like this kid. I love Sanjaya!" after hearing him sing in Spanish in rehearsal, the only one of the remaining eight contestants to do so. Malakar avoided elimination on the April 11 results show, and entered the Top 7.

Sanjaya Malakar Family: Sanjaya Malakar and his sister Shyamali quickly became American Idol Season Six fan favorites after back to back Idol auditions in Seattle. Sanjaya and Shyamali's father was a classic Indian (East) musician. Shyamali notes the importance of their father raising them around music, while Sanjaya credits him for giving them their American Idol-worthy voices.

Sanjaya's cousin Camila is a talented singer (not featured on American Idol). Camila has several songs available on her MySpace Music page, including a duet with Sanjaya.

Sanjaya Malakar Musical Influences: Sanjaya sang Stevie Wonder's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" at his American Idol audition (video). "My idol is Stevie Wonder. I've been singing to his music for as long as I can remember. I'm pretty sure my mom listened to him when she was pregnant with me, so I've been listening to Stevie Wonder since I was in the womb," says Sanjaya Malakar.

Sanjaya credits both his father and mother with influencing his music. His father may have given the American Idol contestant his voice, but his mother surrounded him with music his entire life. Sanjaya calls his sister Shyamali his biggest ally and biggest competition. Shyamali has always been the one person Sanjaya could rely on to be honest with her feedback on his singing, which helped him grow as a singer.

Sanjaya Malakar Education: Sanjaya attended Shorecrest High School in Shoreline, Washington for one year before transferring to Todd Beamer High School in Federal Way. According to the American Idol, Sanjaya says, "I've gotten in trouble for singing in school pretty much all my life. I was always sent out because I was 'distracting the class' but that's just the entertainer in me. I've wanted to be a 'musical entertainer' since I was about 5. Sanjaya elected to get his GED and focus more on his music.
