Many of American Idol's contestants have been suffering from some form of the flu. It has been a tough couple of week for the American Idol hopefuls. Many tears have already been shed with Thursday, February 28, as no exception. American Idol judges were some what surprised with some of americas choices for elimination. The following American Idol contestants had to say goodbye in the second round of elimination.

First elimination round of American Idol season 7...
February 22, 2008, four Idol contestants are voted off....
Thursday night, February 22, 2008, four of the American Idol season 7 contestants had to say goodbye. Two girls and two guys sang their final song on the American Idol stage. The four contestants that were eliminated were as follows.. AMY DAVIS, JOANNE BORGELLA, COLTON BERRY, GARRETT HALEY.

THE FIRST AUDITIONS FOR AMERICAN IDOL 7 AIR JANUARY 15 & 16.
American Idol hopefuls come from around the world for their shot at being this years Idol.
Auditions for American Idol 7 are being held in Philadelphia PA, Dallas TX, and San Diego CA. Judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Paula Abdul will sort through the many Idol hopefuls and decide who will make it to the next round. Contestants give it their all and it is then up to the American Idol judges whether they will receive their golden ticket to continue to round two in Hollywoood.
American Idol brings american some of the finest new talent and also some of the most unusual American Idol fans who audition just to get their few minutes of fame. Some of the most interesting Idol fans show up for a chance to audition for American Idol. Idol hopefuls often dress in unusual costumes and perform some of the most unusual talents which only adds to the character and popularity of American Idol. Often American Idol's more unusual auditions find their own form of fame when america falls in love with them not for their talent but for their unusual personalities.

Is she the next Brittany Spears?
This pretty young lady graced the Idol stage for a promising audition. She could sing as if Brittany Spears was standing there herself. She also performed as a few other big name vocalists. The American Idol judges loved her imitations but then asked her to sing something with her own original voice. They were to say the least, impressed. Simon complimented her and of course she received her golden ticket to hollywood. Keep your eyes open I think we will be seeing alot more of this young lady.

Asia'h Epperson auditioned despite her loss!!
Asia'h Epperson sang her heart out despite her horrible loss. Asia'h Epperson's father was killed in a car accident two days prior to her audition. She received a call informing her of her fathers death but managed to still perform for the judges. Her voice cracked and tears formed half way through her audition for the American Idol judges. Paula Abdul was emotional and the tears were forming. Randy and Simon also showed genuine remorse for this young star to be. She pulled off her American Idol audition despite her loss and received her golden ticket to Hollywood. When asked how she was able to go on with the audition, she stated, it was her fathers dream for her and he would want it that way.
American Idol auditions are over and the top 24 are chosen..

Paul Abdul and Randy Jackson, two of American Idol's judges, release a new single hit. This is the first song release for Paula Abdul in over a decade. American Idol aired a video release of this single and it was also performed at the super bowl - live. Paula's definitely still got it!!!!
