Here we go again American Idol 2010
If you do not watch American Idol then you should not be reading this page. This page is for all the American Idol fans out there who are ready for yet another season of bad and good singers coming together for one thing: the chance to be the next American Idol. With the addition of Ellen DeGeneres and Paula Abdul now gone - I think American Idol will be even more entertaining.

What is American Idol?
American Idol is an American televised singing competition, which began its first season on June 11, 2002. Part of the Idol franchise, it originated from the reality program Pop Idol created by British entertainment executive Simon Fuller, which was first aired in 2001 in the United Kingdom.The program seeks to discover the greatest young singer in the country through a series of nationwide auditions. The outcomes of the later stages of this competition are determined by public voting by phone. The format now features four judges who give critiques of the contestants' performances in order to facilitate the voting: Record producer Randy Jackson; Record executive Simon Cowell; American songwriter, record producer, and singer Kara DioGuardi and TV Talk show host and Comedian Ellen DeGeneres. The show is hosted by former children's game show emcee and television personality Ryan Seacrest.

American Idol Season 8 Changes - a New Judge was added: Kara DioGuardi
She is coinsidered "an American songwriter, record producer, and singer who has contributed to a long list of internationally successful popular songs" - she grew up in Westchester, New York, attended Duke University, and worked in marketing and publishing at Billboard Magazine.She was also Paula's roommate back in the 90's after Paula let her move in and helped her with her music career. Now together again I think they will be very entertaining and bring something new to the show this year.

- I never, ever thought I could get hooked on American Idol. Last season proved me wrong. My only regret is that I wasn't able to watch it the season Carrie Underwood won since she's from our neck of the woods. Can't wait for Season 9! (Did I really say that??)
