Because we have so much freedom in America, in comparison with other countries, Americans are extremely fortunate. But with sensationalism being what is most important to the media, it makes for a grim, but false, picture of our country. And I have to ask... how well aware of our fortune are we anymore? Do we actually buy into the media's portrayal of America? According to the news, it seems to me that the word "sacrifice," to Americans, has become rather trivial and that defending ourselves from real danger has become some sort of primitive evil act that the president should be imprisoned for. Americans are so spoiled that the word sacrifice has been diminished to simple inconveniences, such as going without television for a couple of nights, taking the bus to work, washing the dishes by hand, going without a cell phone or laptop, standing in line at the post office, or eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for three days in a row.

#5: Meet Chuck Colson
In 1974, Colson entered a plea of guilty to Watergate-related charges; although not implicated in the Watergate burglary, he voluntarily pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice in the Daniel Ellsberg Case.He entered Alabama's Maxwell Prison in 1974 as a new Christian and as the first member of the Nixon administration to be incarcerated for Watergate-related charges. He served seven months of a one-to-three year sentence.
Colson's personal prison experience and his frequent visits to prisons also prompted new concerns about the efficacy of the American criminal justice system and made him one of the nation's influential voices for criminal justice reform. Colson's recommendations have brought together legislators from both political parties and divergent philosophical viewpoints. In 1983, Colson established Justice Fellowship, now the nation's largest faith-based criminal justice reform group.
In 1991 Colson launched a daily radio feature called "BreakPoint," a unique and well-received attempt to provide a distinct Christian worldview on everyday issues and conflicts. The program is aired daily on over 1,000 radio outlets nationwide.
In his most recent book, The Good Life, Colson reflects not only on his life in politics, prison, and ministry, but also on the lives of historical figures and ordinary people, examining what makes life worth living. He concludes that finding what is true and sacrificing ourselves to that truth lies at the heart of living a good life.
While Colson is one of the Christian community's most sought-after speakers, he has resolutely refused to establish a speaking fee. Perhaps anticipating criticism of any appearance of self-enrichment by a former Watergate figure, Colson donates all speaking honoraria and book royalties to Prison Fellowship, and accepts the salary of a mid-range ministry executive.

In China, people are not allowed to choose their occupation, choose their educational institution, make as much money as they want, speak freely about the government, voice their personal opinions, own a Bible, pick from a menu of churches, and certainly not own a handgun for self-protection! Their government is free to jail and persecute anyone they choose for any reason they choose. The people of China must do everything with the best interest of their government in mind, but it is illegal to do anything in their own interest.

Not that some Americans do not understand the meaning of true sacrifice. Some of us have been to these countries. Some of us have come from them seeking refuge. I was nearly killed by a mortar. Our home was destroyed. We lived in a bomb shelter for seven years. Most of my childhood friends were killed. That's how I know.
We must make the connection between individual safety and a strong national defense, increase civic preparation and political responsibility, and train all Americans to become defenders of our community safety and national security.

She has made a startling physical recovery; she was not expected to be able to walk, but she now walks with a modest limp. She entered and completed a local marathon in 2005, and the London Marathon in 2006. In her advocacy, she does not express anger or bitterness, but seeks to convince people that abortion is a violation of the human rights of the aborted person through the plain example of her story and her visible present identity; she even seeks to comfort women who regret their abortions and are suffering for them. Gianna also sings, accompanied by her friend Michael Logen; she has written and recorded songs.Gianna identifies herself as a Christian. She boldly proclaims her belief in the love and mercy of God, as well as speaking in support of chastity. She has forgiven her birth mother for aborting her, despite that forgiveness being unwanted. Jessen gives credit to Jesus for her life, her physical recovery, and her joy.

Freedom in America hangs in the balance today because too many people do not know or understand what keeps us free. In an effort to gain more freedoms than we already have, the whining and complaining of leftist propaganda is slowly robbing us of our freedoms, one by one. Good and evil are confused with each other. Several judges and legislators are attempting to replace the people's vote with their own personal political agendas.
We musn't do nothing; we cannot afford to let the cards fall where they may. There are Americans who are actually impassioned about destroying our country, and I don't think they realize it. It's not that this is their goal. I don't think they hate America. I just don't think they understand that the constitution was designed for a people that value morality according to Biblical teachings. Without morality, this nation cannot survive. The constitution can be interpreted or changed to fit personal agendas and ideas not originally parto of the plan, rather than ideas reflecting the true voice of virtue. We have seen this first hand in the case of Roe v. Wade.
