"American Muscle Cars" or "Import Tuners"?...You Decide
What type of automobile gives you that sense of unbelievable excitement, that seat of your pants adrenalin rush shimmering down your spine causing the tiny hairs on your body to unwillingly stand up?. Is it categorized as an "American Muscle Car", or an "Import Tuner", or maybe it is both?.
Before you answer, take the time to consider these few basic questions; What was your first car?, was it an import , or a domestic?, What type of car does, or did your idol(s) drive, or endorse?, Have you driven both imported, and domestic cars?, Have you ever attended a racing event at your local racetrack, and if so did it include import cars, domestic cars, or both?, What type of cars do your friends like?, If you were able to have any, and ONLY one car of your choosing what would it be?.
Ok, now you have pondered these questions, you should have a better idea as to why you may prefer the cars you prefer. Do you prefer a certain type of car because that is all you have been exposed to, or because it plays a song with your heart strings every time you see or drive one?.
There are many different reasons why we have preferences; the interesting thing is how loyal car enthusiasts are toward their preferences. Have you ever argued beyond the rational norm to extol your opinion as to why your make, model, or brand is the "ablsolute" even when your arguments are questionable?...
Time now for the argument...It is a matter of preference, and I choose "BOTH", although contradictory to the answers to the questions I posed, I simply get that rush of adrenalin from all forms of motorsports, and the cars involved. I hold a special place in my heart for both the "American Musclecars", for which I own a few, and for the "Import Tuners", for which I dont own, yet still hold a place in my heart for.
So, whether you favor the ground pounding, rumbling, large cubic inch, and often ill handling muscle cars, or the high revving, turbo'd, street carving technological imports, just rember your passion is shared by many.
YOUR TURN!
American or Import Cars?..I say Both
