Welcome to Amiable Confessions!
"Genuine Friend"
I concur that most of life's best things are ofen free. I would venture to say that friendship is one of them.
A genuine friend who can find? Her eyes may be bright or may be blind.
Are her expressions pantomime?
Or is she a friend of mine?
God says, "Be of good cheer and take courage."
She boldly replies, "I can manage.
With Thy help Lord Almighty,
Long days on Earth will be pleasant to me."
She is the person after your own heart.
Learning from her where to start?
Oh, how nice it is to know her heart!
For its tenderness is extremely vast.
What a wonderful friend she can be!
You don't need money for her to stay.
Like God's blessings, her friendship is free.
Take it and be filled with glee!

"What Constitues a Friend?"
There are those who confess that they are your friends but how to tell that they really are as they claimed to be? This very question inspired me to write this one.
From your flawsA good she draws
A friend so true
Never lets you blue.
She knows your all
Your rise and fall
A friend so bona fide
Never lays you aside.
When you are down
Can't help but frown
A friend with hefty hope
Never lets you mope.
An injurious mistake
Character at stake
A friend so kind
Never leaves you behind.
Hidden truth often is
But she tells it like it is
A friend so candid
Never leaves you misguided.
Secrets are safe and sound
For she tattles not around
A friend so trustworthy
Never leaves you to worry.
In your moments of need
Your plea she will heed
A friend so kind-hearted
Never leaves you empty handed.
When love turns its evil cheek
A shoulder to cry on you seek
A friend so comforting
Never leaves your heart aching.
Among her earthly reserves
Deems you one of her riches
A friend so priceless
Never leaves you worthless.
Death knocks the time to mourn
A poignant point of no return
A friend so cheerful
Never leaves you woeful.
Love, hope and faith
She'll always bequeath
A friend so constant
Never leaves you in a distant.
When friendship is put to test
Her actions will sure attest
A friend thru thick and thin
Never loses and always wins.
