Hand Built Amish Mission Mirrors
The Amish make many mirrors, but have a special preference for the mission style. Good mission design is very strong, which allows for thicker, heavier and optically perfect mirror glass. These mirrors are favored by both men and women. Men like them because they are not fussy, are strong and heavy, and are masculine. Women like them because they transition extremely well with several decorating styles, are so strong that they are easy care, and they add light and lines to any room. The jewelry mirrors below are actually a jewelry and accessory cabinet, and they open revealing storage pockets and hooks, liined with anti-tarnish crushed velvet. This Mission Style Jewelry Cheval mirror measures 21" x 22" x 74". The mirror is a door, with black mission hardware, that opens to reveal pockets and hooks to store your jewelry and accessories. This is one of the mission mirrors I own, though in oak, and I have found this to be my favorite mirror in the house. The size, if hung well, is good for shorter people and taller people, both can take a quick look before heading out the door. The shelf was useful to put a remote temperature sensor on, so as I'm leaving I can be sure what to wear. The black mission hooks are the best in the world. They gently but securely hold coats, scarves and hats without things falling off onto the floor, and without damaging any fabrics. These perfect little mirrors fit almost anywhere you need a little extra light, with or without black mission hooks.They measure 27.5 x 4 x 18.75 and are available in oak or cherry. Oak has three finish options: harvest, medium walnut or dark cherry, and quarter sawn has those three plus michael's cherry. Cherry has two finish options, natural or dark cherry.
