This quilt was the winter project of two very good friends located in Lancaster County. The Plain People believe in getting together and socializing while getting something accomplished, and so these two women who have been quilting for decades, would meet, have coffee and whoopie pies, and quilt. Their joy of being together is evident in the happy, carefree Amish Quilt.... it is colorful and fun!

Cleos Block Patchwork Amish Quilt
This Cleos Block Patchwork Amish Quilt measures 96 x 112 inches and fits a Queen size bed. There are approximately 6 handquilted stitches per inch. Quilted by Pennsylvania Mennonite Quilting Bee (in some areas of the quilt top, the marking for the quilting is dark and quite apparent).
Faith, a woman who loves to sew and quilt, and who loves volunteering her talents to help others, has pieced this quilt in the PA Dutch area of Pennsylvania (south central PA). This Quilt has heavy marks for the quilting in both red and green pencil (so the paths to quilt on could be visible to the older members of the Bee), and was quilted at a Mennonite Quilting Bee. There are rows of intricate quilting - of the same Cleo's Block pattern) between the blocks (lengthwise), and this complexity in quilting adds to the appeal of this quilt.
