Feel The Noise

I love my Dr. Z amps and will someday own every model he has every made but I still like to search out cool amps for you to check out so go to the bottom of the link list and check out Savage Amps. I have been hearing great things about em!

I started this for my love of fine amplifiers. As many of you guitar players out there will testify, a good amp is at times elusive but well worth the hunt.

Now, lets go look at some amps!

Todays Thought on Tone & What's New

The Producer by 65Amps could be the best all around studio amp in existence.

Tone Craftsmen

Purveyors of fine Mojo

My favorite amp manufacturers and people who work with amps.
My Favorite amp builder
I have always wanted a boutique amp yet the pricing always kept me away. Through the miracle of the internet I found Dr. Z Amplifiers and began my research on who is Dr. Z and what makes his amps so darn good. Take a look and listen to some clips and drool over the beautiful sound machines.
65AMPS
Dan Boules and his staff make an amazing group of amplifiers. Check them out. Next on my to buy list.
Tiny amps-Big Sound
Care to turn your bedroom into a Stadium? Take a gander at this cool little mini-amp by Zvex. I am definitely going to pick one up. It will keep my neighbors much happier.
Hemp Speakers
When I first heard about this speaker I thought it was just another hippy joke. Reports on these excellent speaker warrant a purchase from me to check it out. If you get some speakers first let me know here in my forum.
Simple and beautiful
I was up @ Jackpot Studios at the beginning of this year and I got to hear one of these fine amps from Emery Sound. So simple yet it rocked so hard.
L.A.'s amp Zen Master
I came upon Myles via the Dr. Z messageboard and this man knows more about amps than you can shake a stick at. When you check out his site you will notice he knows more than just amps, this gentleman is a true renaissance man.
Cones of sonic goodness
Ted Weber makes great speakers. I suggest you get on his site and look around. What people don't realize is that with a quick replacement of speakers you have a new and completely different amplifer again. He also makes a product called a beam blocker which helps disperse the sound coming from your speaker and you get a more overall wider and more listenable sound.
Dumble
Holy smokes! Please check out the wiki on the infamous Dumble amplifier. Boy howdy I sure would like one in my collection. Drool away friends.
R.I.P. Ken
Ken made some of the best tone machines in existance.
Carr Amplifiers
Since one of the amps I have been featuring in the ebay section is Carr amps I figured you need to see their site. For all you indie type folk Alan Sparhawk of Low plays the Mercury model. A friend of mine shot a pic of him playing out here at The Casbah (San Diego). Pick up their latest release and take a listen to some great overdrive.
Victoria Amp Co.
So are you looking for a classic Fender tweed amp but don't want to pay a crazy price and cry when someone lifts it at the club. Fear no more friends. Mark of Victoria Amp Co. produces some great tweed style amps. Heck, I'd get one of these over an old Fender tweed because I can now get the great tone and Reliability of a new amp.
Savage amps
The Savage story started in 1990, in the basement of owner Jeff Krumm's home in Savage, Minnesota. They carry these cool amps at our local guitar store, Buffalo Bros. Guitars in Carlsbad, CA. Go in and check em out. I now also want the little 6 watter they make.

Here are my selections to read and listen to for great tone.

These are must read books if you are into amps, guitars and recording.

Blogs with Great Tone

Wanna hear what other people say about tone?

A great place to be tapped into all the guitar sonic goodness available out in the boutique amp market. There are so many fine builders out there I feel each and every one of us should support our local amp builders.
