In a very broad sense, anabolic androgenic steroids (AAS)work by diffusing through muscle cell membranes and attaching to androgen receptors. Androgen receptors work much like a light switch. It has an off and an on position. When a molecule of AAS attaches to an androgen receptor, it activates. Once the molecule of AAS leaves, the androgen receptor is switched back to the off position and awaits another molecule of AAS.

When an androgen receptor is activated by a molecule of anabolic androgenic steroids, it travels to the nucleus of the cell. Here it awaits another activated androgen receptor to combine with. They form a pair and search out certain parts of DNA to bind too. Once bound to the DNA, the pair of activated androgen receptors trigger certain genes that are associated with creating muscle proteins. As a result, activity of the genes are increased which allow more muscle proteins to be produced. Ultimately, the user of anabolic androgenic steroids grows bigger.

This is a very basic description and there are minor steps of the process that aren't worth covering. However, without these steps you should still have a basic grasp of how anabolic androgenic steroids work.

It is popular in cutting stacks because it allows the bodybuilder to preserve lean mass while losing fat.

Winstrol dosage is usually between 25-100 mg/day with 50mg/day being the most common dosage. It is usually injected every day, but some users prefer to inject twice a day. Prolonged use of Winstrol may cause liver damage.

Clenbuterol is not an anabolic androgenic steroid. However, it is associated with anabolic androgenic steroids because of popularity among athletics. The main reason for using Clenbuterol is to acclerate the body's use of fat cells.

It is prescribed as a bronchodilator to help alleviate congestion associated with breathing disorders. Clenbuterol is a longer lasting stimulant, unlike ephedrine which leaves the body in a few hours. Clenbuterol exists in the body for days, so the user is on it 24 hours a day, but it accelerates heart rate less than ephedrine.

A typical dose of Clenbuterol is 100mcg per day, but prescriptions normally state 20-60mcg per day.
