National Arboretum
On the banks of the Anacostia River, the beautiful grounds of the Arboretum also feature a koi pond, a duck pond and the old capitol columns. The U.S. National Arboretum is dedicated to improving the environment by developing and promoting improved floral and landscape plants and new technologies.
Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens
Across the Anacostia from the National Arboretum, visit Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens for the water lilies and lotus blossoms. You may even see a great blue heron.
Bladensburg Waterfront Park
Nestled among the Port Towns of Bladensburg, Colmar Manor and Cottage City, the revitalized Bladensburg Waterfront Park is located on the Anacostia River. Boat rentals and free boat tours are available.
