Get to Know Your Family History In Genealogy

Genealogy is a fascinating subject. Start tracing your family history today. Get to know your Ancestors, who were they, what did they do? Have you or any other member of your family displaying a family trait or are you at present in a profession, similar to an Ancestor.

Thanks to Genes Reunited I came to know about my family history.I have discovered the descendants of my Great-Grandfather's family here in the United Kingdom. He had six brothers, and yet he was the only one to go to India, start working there, he got married there to an Anglo-Indian lady had children and he eventually died in Calcutta, India, never returning home.

Learn as much as you can about your family history from your living relatives and through your family records, photographs and documents.

Interesting lens - as a seller of vintage postcards it is very closely linked to my interests as well - I always find the images complete the search in many cases. Well written - well done.

Hi. I would issue caution on using the information on genesreunited. One of the most common reasons for this is that a lot of people on there simply "copy" the information they are given without verifying the research themselves thus duplicating errors. I am of course not saying that you have done this but it is easy to assume that if someone has gone to the trouble of depositing the data online that they are somehow an "expert". I think it needs to be pointed out to anyone starting genealogy that you must do the work yourselves and use other peoples information as a guide only.
