- Julie. Yes. I read Physics at Oxford University and I have been designing silicon-chips (or consulting with and training designers) for over 20 years, but I also worked for a newspaper as a photographer and have also sold some photos. Photography doesn't pay as well as electronic design, but I've been doing it for over 30 years and still love it. I am now a freelance silicon-chip design consultant (and photographer and stock-market trader...) which allows me more flexibility.
