About Angel and the Badman
The starring roles in Angel and the Badman belong to John Wayne and Gail Russell. Wayne portrays Quirt Evans, an injured gunslinger who is given shelter and nursed back to health by a Quaker family. Russell portrays Penelope Worth, a daughter in the Quaker family.The gunslinger finds himself faced with a choice between his old ways, and the style of life as practice by Penelope and her family. In the meantime Marshal Wistful McClintock (portrayed by Harry Carey) continues in his relentless pursuit of gunslinger Evans.
Angel and the Badman is one of several movies in which Wayne starred for Republic pictures during the 1940s. Other Republic Pictures movies in which Wayne was featured include The Fighting Seabees, The Fighting Kentuckian, and Sands of Iwo Jima.
