Angel Greeting Cards

"As I was attempting to draw an angel based upon "God is Love" for a private commission, my thoughts during prayer kept drifting to the Holy Spirit. I was continually reminded how He is always moving, guiding our very steps, directing our way, if we let Him. It is through prayer and surrender to the Lord which helps us to forget ourselves and become more open to the "Winds of God's Love."

REFLECTION

The Winds of God's Love,
flow through us.
Forever on our minds,
forever in our hearts.
O' come Breath of life.
O' come Holy Spirit.
Sweep us up in Your love.

"This particular angel was drawn the same day as the "Path of Light" angel. I consider them cousins even though they look quite different. They both have a traveling theme and reflect a time in my life when I was acutely aware of God directing my personal journey."

Reflection Prayer:

Angel of God,
Turn and look my way
As you travel about doing His will.
Help me this day dear angel,
To always follow God's plan for my life.

"The "Path of Light" angel is one of my personal favorites. In fact, she hangs beside my computer desk. She was drawn the same day as her cousin, "Traveler." I often think of this angel as my guardian angel giving me strength and hope when times are difficult. She helps me take the focus off myself and put it on reaching out to others. Those individuals who may be struggling in their faith and questioning where God is in the sufferings of today."

Reflection

Walk with me dear angel,
as I struggle to show others
the way of God.

Strengthen me,
so I can in turn
strengthen the faith of the weak.

May my love and faith in Our Lord Jesus shine through
to light the path for unbelievers.

"While chaperoning a youth retreat at Gilmary Retreat Center in Pittsburgh, I had some free time for prayer. As soon as I walked into the chapel I imagined the presence of three angels adoring Christ in the tabernacle. It was natural for me to join them in adoration and offer my praise. For months after the retreat I imagined their presence at Mass, often kneeling in adoration before the altar at the consecration."

O God, you are my God.

"This is an angel which I actually visualized during a group centering prayer session. Rarely do I see images and reproduce them. Usually I sit down to draw, wanting simply to express what lies in my heart to the Lord and end up with an amazing image. I cannot describe what was going on in my heart at the time of this angel's creation nor of the accompanying prayer. Although, not long after this angel was painted, I found my heart in need of great healing and can only guess it was my guardian angel saying the prayer for me." Sandra Monier

Angel of God,
take this, my prayer,
to Our Lord;

Come into the
center of my heart,
Lord Jesus.
Heal every wound.
Lay your loving hand
upon my soul
and bring me peace.

"It all starts with a quiet whisper from God. Inspiration comes from Scripture, writings of the Saints, quiet time in adoration, and individuals who share their joys and sorrows. For the scarves, I sketch the images, transfer them to silk and use dyes to add the color.

The accompanying prayers are also originals. The words often come around the time the images are drawn. For that reason, the prayers and figures are never separated, the two are one message.

I pray that your heart may grow closer to He who loves you, through these Angels of God."
