Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt
Ranked #4,647 in Books, Poetry & Writing, #172,603 overall
Angela's Ashes the book.
Frank McCourt writes with a marvelous dry wit and black humor which helps to create a funny yet sad tale all at the same time, describing what the family had to endure though such dark hard times and the courage they had to face for a brighter future.
A very moving and emotional story, a belly laugh on one page, sorrow the next.
How I love this book ! Very much a must Read!

- To me he was the every man that had a will to write and did it after he retired. To get that kind of recognition after being a teacher is a dream coming true. I was taken aback this summer while shopping at the 99cent store. There sat a two foot stack of "Angela and the Baby Jesus" by Frank McCourt. It was illustrated nicely and the story is for kids. I felt very sad that he did not live to write more pieces. One in a magazine I read a few years was very impressive. It seemed sad that this book was going for a dollar.
My family of 14 couples and parents with small children each received a copy for Christmas.

- Angela's Ashes can be seen on many of my bio pages in social sites as being THE book I love out of all books... Frank McCourt was legendary and will remain on my top list for a lifetime. His subsequent book 'Tis, although also exceptional, did not quite hit home as Angela's Ashes did, but still hysterically funny!
