Animals blessed by an Angel

During my time as a Squidoo Angel, one of the greatest pleasures was finding lenses that brought an instant smile to my face. Lenses that would otherwise have slipped under my radar.

The best of these were the stories of animals, of pet dogs and cat companions. Of elephants and other magnificent beasts in their daily struggle to survive against their deadliest enemy - us.

I found stories told with love for these household friends, with respect and compassion for the creatures of the wild and it was truly a blessing for me to read them.

As humans we have a need to care for other creatures and fulfilling that need makes better people of us all.

Here are some special animals, blessed by an angel.

Blindness is a significant public health issue in Cambodia. Over 160,000 people are blind and an additional 20,000 become blind each year. The main cause of blindness is cataract, which can be treated by a simple 15 minute operation at an average cost of $25 (AUD$35).
