How to Make Ang Pow Fish

Ang Pow Decorative Craft Work
This year, I have successfully make a fish with ang pows or red packets. If you are not a chinese and you have got no ideas where to get ang pows, you can use some colorful paper and cut them up into ang pows sizes. However, this will take a lot of work. Another alternative is to buy ang pows from ebay.
If you still do not know what is a ang pow, check out my red packets lens.
Oh, by the way, this fish is very easy to make.
You will need...
2) Adhesive.
3) A stapler.
Decorations:
1) 2 black circles/2 round plastic eyes for the eyes.
2) 2 golden strings.
3) 1 ang pow (you can use a different red packet from above)
Buy your Ang Pows on eBay
or call them Chinese New Year red packets if you want.
Making the Fish Body
-
First of all, make sure all 18 ang pows are close. Some ang pow came with self adhesive, some don't. For those that do not have self adhesive, use some glue to seal off the ang pows.

-
Fold the all 18 ang pow slightly into half at the top and bottom. Do not fold the whole ang pow until there is a straight line, we only need a tiny marking.

-
Fold all 18 ang pows at the corners.

-
Stapler 2 top corners of 2 ang pows together.

-
Stapler another 2 more ang pows to form the fish body like the picture below. You will need to make 2 of these shape.

-
Stapler all the side together to form the fish body. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture when I have finish the fish body.

Making the Fish Mouth
-
Fold 2 ang pows into halves.

-
Arrange the ang pows just like the picture shown below and stapler them together.

-
Stapler the mouth piece to the body piece as shown in the picture.

Making the Fish Fins
-
Fold 2 ang pows into halves. Stapler one of the folded ang pow on the top of the fish body as shown.

-
Stapler the other folded ang pow into the fin.

Repeat the fish fins instruction for the bottom side of the fish body.
Making the Fish Tail
-
Fold the rest of the ang pows into halves, there should be 4 ang pows left. Take 2 ang pows and stapler them like the picture below. Do the same for the rest of the ang pows.

-
Stapler one tail onto the body of the fish first, then stapler the second one. You will have something like this.

Decorating the Ang Pow Fish
-
Seal the ang pow. Cut the ang pow into stripes leaving around 1 to 2cm at the top.

-
Roll the cut ang pow and stapler it. Stapler one of the golden string into it and stapler the other end of the golden string to the bottom of the fish fin.

Stapler the other golden string on top fish fin for hanging your fish. Now you have completed your ang pow fish.
