A Cuckoo Clock and Birdhouse

Angry Birds BirdhouseI love the cuckoo clock idea! They wanted to give their daughter something cute and Angry Birds themed but didn't want to spend a lot so they made a Cuckoo Clock!

This could easily be adapted to work as a birdhouse too and someone of course has already beat me to the punch it looks like.

Hide Some Angry Birds For Easter

How excited would the kids be to find an Angry Bird hiding with their eggs?

Easter Eggs

Angry Birds Easter Eggs CraftI have a couple different crafts here that you can try out.

The first is from Red Ted Art's Blog where they used eggs, paint, and some craft supplies to make the a> you see in the picture. They look like a great craft to do with your kids over the Easter break.

Then there is some great a> made by dominikaturek. Decoupage is a pretty simple technique and is similar to paper mache in technique.

Angry Bird Pom Poms

Angry Bird Pom PomsMake and Takes has a great tutorial on how to make a real-life version of angry birds by making pom pom birds and pigs combined with little paper cups. They look great and are great fun.

Crafty Cristy put together some of these pom poms and they looked fantastic. Take a look around while you are there, she has a great blog.

Papercrafts

Little Plastic Man has some great downloadable paper cutout versions of the characters. They look super sharp and are fun to play with too.

Another fun craft is making the birds from cardboard tubes and some colored craft paper like they did at Crafts by Amanda.

Angry Birds Cookies - Mmmmmm

The Sweet Adventures of Sugarbelle has a simple to follow set of three tutorials on making a pig, a yellow bird, and a red bird.

Cakes Cakes and More Cakes

One of the most popular cakes out there is the playable cake over at ElectricPig. It has been features on Mashable and Gizmodo and there is a great video that is posted below.

A full Angry Birds themed birthday and cake are shown off at Half Baked. The cake pops are amazing looking and I hope to see those at my next birthday.

The most realistic cake has to go to Jamie Masterson for his amazingly realistic version shown in the picture. I think this might be a little beyond the average baker, but I had to show this amazing cake off.

If you are looking for cake toppers head over to Instructables and check out the post by Artisan Cake Company. It's terrifically detailed and goes over how to make both red and black birds.

Michelle89 already did a great job posting a thorough list of cakes and cupcakes here at Squidoo too so go check out what she has posted.

I just saw even more great cake pops over at Bakerella and they look delicious.

Build A Playable Table Top Version

Table-top version of Angry BirdsA great dad from over at Chaincrafts built his kids a table-top version of Angry Birds and he was nice enough to post a quick how-to with it. I think the next time I see my nephews and nieces I will have a great craft project to keep them busy for a while with this one.

Need a gift or just love Angry Birds?

Coloring Pages

Angry Birds Coloring PagesThere's nothing more fun than sitting down with a big box of crayons and doing some coloring. PowPie has a great collection of coloring pages here on Squidoo, so go take a look at the terrific collection and then point me to some pictures of your amazing artwork.

Balloons!

Angry Birds Balloons and BannerThe Party Animal Blog has free templates available to make your next Angry Birds party all the better. They are nice and simple and you can get the kids to help with cutting them out and attaching them to the balloons.

Paper Mache

Angry Birds PiñataYou should get on making a paper mache piñata like the one at Growing Up. It is a fun craft to do with kids and then you can have lots of fun trying to break it open.

As a volunteer Big Brother I am definitely thinking about making one of these for my little brother for his birthday.

Costumes

Angry Birds CostumesThe most popular plans around come from The Clock Blog whom made some great looking costumes. I also highly recommend checking out the four post series done by paws & re-thread as the costumes came out fanstastic.

For more inspiration check out the Angry Birds Costumes article here on Squidoo as well.

Hats

Angry Birds HatThere are a few options out there for hats. You could go paper mache style or you could knit them, or you could even sew them. All three make some great hats so go check them out.

Another hat option has been found at Ravelry by Jeni icanknitanything that looks fantastic.

Clay and Ornaments

Angry Birds OrnamentsYou really don't need to get too fancy for this one, you can go so simple as to just pick up some Play Doh and get to work. If you would like to get a little more fancy use polymer clay. I couldn't find any written tutorials on making clay angry birds, but there are plenty out there for working with polymer clay and so I posted some of the videos of the great work people had done below along with some simple video tutorials as well.

The ornaments are also a nice simple craft to make and this tutorial comes from the fantastic Obsessively Stitching. The most complicated part is likely the making of the Santa hats.

There is a great lens here on Squidoo by Noadi that has tips on sculpting polymer clay if need some help with using it.

Angry Birds Made From Clay

Here is a compilation of some of the best videos around of clay Angry Birds. A couple are tutorials and a couple are just great examples.

Sewing

Plush Angry BirdsThe possibilities here are nearly endless.
We have the great plush pigs and birds at Obsessively Stitching. The patterns for all the characters are available and they look fantastic.

If those are a little above your level or you want a more kid friendly version, I recommend making a more 2 dimension style angry bird with felt and then sewing the edges and stuffing them with some batting. You have the option here of cutting out the details and letting the kids glue them onto to the felt to have some fun.

My Name is Momma also has a hair bow tutorial that isn't quite sewing and is on the simpler side so it is a little more kid friendly too.

If you are into felting there is a how-to over at Craftzine. These look like they would be lots of fun to use in a real-life Angry Birds game.

Knitting and Crochet

Crochet Angry BirdsCrocheting an Angry Bird is finally a possibility! After much searching I have found THREE FREE patterns at Ravelry that make a delightful little red bird, an explosive looking black bird and a menacing pig. I think this would be fun way to learn to crochet and is definitely a pattern that would get a kid interested in it.

Knitting patterns have been tough to find as well, but I have found one good example at Colorado Moms and one pattern for sale at Ravelry.

Pumpkin Carving

Pumpkin Carving StencilsLast Halloween saw some great Jack O Lanterns and I have some pictures below that you can vote between and use as inspiration.

Gingerbread House

Angry Birds Gingerbread HouseMaking a gingerbread house lends perfectly to Angry Birds. I like how in the video below that the person used hard caramel as the "glue" to bond the pieces together. This should hold the house together much better than some other options like this one by zero-lives that didn't hold together and collapsed on itself.

Time-Lapse Gingerbread House Making

I think the skill with which he/she makes the birds and pigs is amazing. Would love to make one of these myself.

Lego

Angry Birds LegoEver since seeing Tsang Yiu Keung post some amazing Lego Angry Birds on Facebook I have been scouring around the web looking for another example and perhaps some instructions on how to make them. Tsang used a lot of pieces I have never seen before and so I wanted something with more easily accessible parts and I think Stephene Griffin is the best to date. I have the flickr stream linked up below, check it out and vote on which is your favorite.

It looks like the pics on Facebook are not reachable any longer, but I found that flippies seems to have the full set.

Sand Scuptures

Angry Birds Sand SculptureGot a whole lot of sand? Try making a sand sculpture of some angry birds and pigs.

The image comes from Niels Brouwers sand sculpting team and it looks amazing. That's a lot of sand.

Another Angry Bird sculpture was completed for Sand in the City and is fantastic as well. I hope they won.

And there is the McGann family's sand sculptures that are a little less professional, but equally impressive.

Some other ideas

Babybel Angry BirdsTurning Babybel cheese into Angry Birds is one of my new favorites. Kids love them and now you have an extra way to encourage them to get their daily dose of calcium courtesy of the family kitchen.

Or, if you have an espresso maker, try making some Angry Birds Coffee Art like Eric did. Makes me want to get my Nespresso going so I can try it out.

Valentines Cards

Angry Hulk Bird by Big D & MeThere is a nice simple card with all the birds on it over at Joliluja. She did a great job making it herself after she couldn't find them anywhere.

I absolutely love the "super" themed cards at Big D & Me; personal favorite has to be the Incredible Hulk one.
