Oh yes - Angry Birds is two years old, and it is time to visit all those wonderful and eccentric birdies once again - in a new Avatar - 2.0 now!
There is a lot of history that happened in the last two years - from starting off as another quirky little game targeted to iPhone and Mobile users, to quickly becoming a craze beyond what the makers themselves expected, this amazing brand has gone beyond a simple 'game' now and is responsible for millions of dollars of direct and indirect commerce today.

Two Years of absolute craziness!
If you are among the 500 Million + people who've downloaded / bought / stolen any of the Angry Birds games, you will already know this. A couple of days ago, the Angry Birds Phenomenon celebrated two years. Your game would have updated with a few new levels of breaking-crashing madness, and i'm sure many of you already got a few stars in the new levels too.Seldom do we see a success as phenomenal as Angry Birds. An obscure little Finnish Game Maker (Rovio) would never have imagined a success of this magnitude. But the good thing is that they adapted real fast, and kept fuelling the fire! First came the next games in the series - Rio and Seasons, and they followed it up by licensing out the brand to all possible genres - from apparel to games to toys to books, movies, and much more.
You will see a module from Amazon below this post with the latest deals on toys and plush from the Angry Birds range. These make for some great gifts - especially if there are kids in the equation.

- Rovio estimates that players spend over a million hours playing Angry Birds every single day! That easily makes it one of the planet's premier time-hogging resource :)
- 'Wreck the Halls' is the latest add-on to the Angry Birds game - featuring 25 levels full of Christmas revelry. This came out a few days ago - in December 2011
- All Nokia fans (including me), rejoice! Finally Rovio is coming up with an exclusive game titled Angry Birds Magic for Nokia phones that run Symbian - which is most of the smart phones out there. The game is expected to come out in the next few months. Actually, this should have happened so long ago - considering that both Nokia and Rovio are from Finland!
- There are talks to develop the next series of the app to be told from the Pigs point of view! We do look forward to that - especially to seeing the pigs do something other than grunt and guffaw!! :)

Among the bestsellers in the genre, this is the closest we can get to actually thwacking these crazy finches on the wooden shutters on which we have the pigs :)
