Animal Study for Homeschoolers

Animal Unit Study | Animal Study

An animal study is a great way to get your young children interested in the subject of science. When you homeschool your children, you have a lot of freedom on what you do with your school. If you have a young animal lover in the house, you may want to consider indulging that interest and they may love science for years to come.

The Complete Book of Animals (The Complete Book Series)

I love this book! It goes through and has hundreds of animals featured. Most pages have a one page article about the animal and a few questions at the bottom about what was read. The pictures of each animal are very nicely done. The book also has some bonus pull out books about a few different animals and some coloring pages. This book works well if you want to do an "animal of the day" type study or as a jumping off point for a more in depth study.

There is also a free mini show online called Orla's Ark @http://www.orlasark.com and on youtube @http://www.youtube.com/user/orlasark
It's a little girl (named Orla) who tells you all about certain animals, including their Latin names. And my kids love learning about animals.

We are never too young to learn about animals and how to be kind to animals.
