Chiropractic uses force adjustments to maintain the flexibility and mobility of the joints in the body. Movement of the joints is very beneficial for the blood supply to the surrounding tissue, which is extremely important when considering that the spine is made up of multiple joints. Nerves from the spinal cord, which is in the spine, supply everything in the body. Proper movement of the spine will give efficient blood supply causing optimum performance of the nervous system.
Other benefits include proper biomechanics, which includes improved stance and improved movement. Also flexibility is maintained or improved. These benefits along with proper nervous system function helps in decreasing discomfort and pain from a variety of musculoskeletal problems including arthritis, hip dysplasia, and disk disease.
Stress is the culprit of the joints not moving effectively or efficiently. This stress can be from physical situations such as pulled muscles, diseased joints, or accidents. It can also be due to emotional stresses such as separation anxiety, new experiences, new family members, children in general; these cause tension. Anyone with kids knows the tension that they create; you can feel it in the base of your neck. Well, animals have muscles too and they can become tense under pressure, especially from kids.
So if your pet suffers from any stress, physical, medical, or emotional, a chiropractic treatment will help.
