These are completely random, some what pointless, but totally fun facts about wild animals! I made this page to tell everyone about the wild life around them. This page has fun facts on tigers, starfish, gorillas, and more! Fell free to look around and I hope you enjoy my site!

Also, I left out all of the disgusting and gross facts that most poeple don't want to hear about, just incase you were wondering.

So, there are 10 animals on this page and 10 facts for each animal.

Tiger Fun Facts

  • Tigers can see 6 times better at night than humans.
  • Tigers can live up to 20 years in a zoo and about 10-15 in the wild.
  • After a large meal, (that can be 90 pounds) tigers may not eat again for two weeks!
  • A tiger's paw print is called a pug mark.
  • A female tiger is full grown or "grown up" at age three.
  • Tiger Day is the last Sunday in September.
  • Tigers have mostly 100 stripes.
  • The stripes of two tigers are never the same.
  • A tiger's roar can be heard over a mile away.
  • There is a baseball team called The Tigers.

    Starfish Fun Facts

  • Starfish don't have ears or a nose.
  • Starfish can live forever as long as they don't have accidents, get eaten, or get sick!
  • Starfish don't have brains.
  • Starfish normaly live up to 35 years in the wild.
  • Starfish have no blood.
  • Starfish's bony skin helps them from being eaten.
  • Starfish are not acctually fish, they are echinoderms. Scientists call them starfish according to the name "sea star".
  • Starfiah can grow back body parts that get cut or taken off.
  • Starfish can be found indeep and shallow waters.
  • Starfish eat mostly scallops and clams.
  • The mouth of a starfish is located in the center on the bottom near the feet of the starfish.

    Gorilla Fun Facts

  • Gorillas are our closest relative (after chimpanzees)and shares about 98% of our genes!
  • A Gorilla's nest is not used for more than one night.
  • Gorillas have different nose prints.
  • Gorilas live about 35 years in the wild.
  • A group of Gorillas is called a Troop or a Band.
  • Gorilla are usually 300-600 pounds.
  • Gorills are sometimes called the "Gentle Giants".
  • A male gorilla can eat 40 pounds of food a day.
  • A female gorilla can have babies when she is 8 years old.
  • A baby gorilla stays with his/her mother until it is 4-6 years old.

    Seal Fun Facts

  • A harp seal can last about 30 years in the wild.
  • Female harp seals get in groups to have their babies one mating season is over.
  • A group of harp seals is called a Colony or a Rookery.
  • A gray seal lives to its fourties is captivity.
  • A gray seal can dive up to 475 feet deep.
  • Gray seals can hold their breath for 20 minutes while they are diving and swimming.
  • Adult seals need about 11 pounds of food a day.
  • A baby seal is called a pup.
  • A pup (baby seal) can swim hours after birth.
  • A harbor seal's eyes are adapted to dark and murcky waters they swim in.

  • Hippo is really a short name for Hippopotamus.
  • A group of hippos is called a school.
  • A hippo's lifespan in the wild is about 40 years.
  • A hippo's weight can be 5,000-8,000 pounds.
  • Since hippos love the water the Greeks named them the "river horse".
  • A baby hippo is called a calf.
  • A calf (a baby hippo) can weigh 100 pounds.
  • A hippo has tiny legs even with it's huge body.
  • A hippo can run really fast on land.
  • Even though hippos love water and spend a lot of their time in it, they are very bad swimmers.

    Cheetah Fun Facts

  • A male cheetah leaves his young when they are little and he doesn't help raise them.
  • Cheetahs can run 70-80 miles per hour.
  • Today, on Earth there are less than 12,000 cheetahs left.
  • Of all big cats, the cheetah is the smallest.
  • If people don't help save the cheetahs, they will probably become extinct in the next 15 years! Help save the cheetahs!
  • Cheetahs can only run for a short period of time. Which is usually 400-600 yards.
  • When cheetahs run the fastest they can, they look like they're flying!
  • Cheetahs are the only big cats that purr instead of roar.
  • The King of Cheetah has stripes on his back and is very rare.
  • A fully grown cheetah is about 2.3-2.8 feet from his shoulder to his feet and can reach about 75-150 pounds.

  • A mother gives birth to her babies while standing. This starts out the child's life with a six foot drop!
  • Giraffes are the tallest mammals.
  • A griaffe's tounge can extend almost 20 inches!
  • They can run up to 35 miles per hour.
  • Giraffes can jump six feet up.
  • Calves are what baby giraffes are called.
  • A calf can grow up to an inch a day. It can double its hight in a year!
  • A giraffe's neck can be five feet long.
  • When giraffes age, their fur darkens.
  • A giraffe has a eight foot long tail (including the hair at the end).

    Elephant Fun Facts

  • Elephant's brains weight 4-6 kg.
  • An elephant can live to be more than 50 years old.
  • Male elephants can weigh 15,000 pounds.
  • Female elephants can weigh up to 8,000 pounds.
  • One of the things elephants use their tails for is to swat files.
  • Elephnats can be up to 4.1 meters.
  • A baby elephant wieghs about 250 pounds when it is born.
  • Scientists had to go 45 million years back in history to find the elephnat's oldest ancestor.
  • The average weight of a grown up elephant's heart is 25 pounds!
  • Elephnat's tusks are made out of dentine. This is the same as our teeth.

      I can't believe so many people don't know what these animals are!!!! It's very sad and they better have been doing it to be funny! If not that is pathetic.... and I love White Tigers, they are so majestic... BUT FINGER MONKEYS ARE SOOO CUTE!!!

      I love animals! Cheetahs, Starfish, seals, and Dolphins are my favorites on this page! BUT MY FAVORITE ANIMAL IN THE WORLD IS THE FINGER MONKEY!!!! THEY ARE ADORABLE!!!!! LOOK THEM UP! My brother's favorite animal is Elephant.
