Totem Animals
An animal totem or animal guide is an animal whom we feel connected with or that reflects our inner spiritual nature. An animal guide has a great significance in our lives and is able to teach us lessons when we are ready to pay attention. By connecting with the energy of the animal it can help us in our everyday lives. All animals are connected by Great Spirit and we can learn to understand the messages brought to us by individual animals if we really listen. We must honor our relationship with the animal and connect with its energy. Observe and learn everything you can about it, if it is an animal that you are not likely to encounter in your everyday life you can watch programmes on tv ,read books , visit wildlife parks,collect images & even wear jewellery related to the animal.
MEETING YOUR ANIMAL GUIDE
Your animal Guide may come to you in a dream ,a vision, through meditation or in an every day event. It is important to remember that the animal chooses the person and not the other way around.It may not be the glamorous animal that you hoped that comes to you, but how glamorous or big the animal is is not of importance. All animals have different qualities and lessons to teach, the right animal will come depending on the lessons you need to learn at any given time.Be aware of animals around you, does a particular one always appear to you on a regular basis?
Do you have re occurring dreams of a particular animal?
Have you always been attracted to a specific animal since childhood?
Any of the above may be an indication about an animal with whom your spirit connects with.
HOW MANY ANIMAL GUIDES CAN I HAVE
Sometimes an animal will appear suddenly , then leaves once the message has been understood. Other animals will remain with us throughout our lives and will reflet your inner spiritual self. You can have more than one animal guide connect with you throughout your life. Some will stay for a while untill you have learnt their medicine while a messeger guide may leave quickly once the message is understood. CELTIC TRIBAL NAMES

The Lorica
The Lorica was a form of protection used by the Celts.The Lorica is a powerful shamanic practice that gathers energy and protection from nature which anyone can learn to do.You may call forth any form of nature such as : ancestors,trees,guides,angels or animals to help protect you and offer you guidance.
To do this simply sit quietly and centre yourself with some deep breathing. Focus your intention on invoking protection and wisdom. There are seven directions which include : north,south,east and west,above,below and centre( within )
Place one of your guides or forms in each of the directions, for example you may say....
Bear before me , deer behind me, wolf to the left of me , blackbird to the right of me, hawk above me, salmon below me and the light of love and spirit within me''
The Lorica helps us feel grounded, protected and connected.
In Celtic spirituality some of the common animal totems included the raven, deer, boar, bear ,badger,blackbird, eagle, otter, mouse, horse, wolf, hound & salmon.

- hi there i would like to know how can i find out who am i , or why anmals come to me so frequently without any manipulation of drums or cards...well obviously sometimes i get the message others i try to learn with the animal how to release my karma...but for example why do i feel i am somehow someone extremely connected with shamanism?? off course when the sparrows show up to me i realise someone is about to die, for example and this happened with my mother...but y mind rush n understanding pesence of animals so evident in my life that sometimes its so obvious i feel awe, and i want to know what kind of shamanic powers do i have...my tote animals are wolf and howl...thanks for the help.
