Anime Maid Cosplay

In general, maid cosplay is very interesting. Basically, the maid costumes that is worn by the cosplayers in this article are originated from European countries, to be exact France. That's why, such kind of maid costume is also known as "French maid costume". The costume is very simple, consists of two contrasting black and white color. The bold contrast enhance the exposure of the outfit, especially if it is worn in very proper and attractive way.

Izumi Sawatari is a very popular maid anime girl from "He Is My Master". Compared to another maid, she is the most ambitious character and the one who has very close relationship to Yoshitaka, her master. Her age that is only 14 doesn't prevent her to work to earn money to pay off her debt. She has major role in the story development, and becomes the major character in the anime. Izumi Sawatari is also the most favorite character for most of Japanese cosplayers.

In the anime, Izumi Sawatari is depicted as very cheerful and optimistic maid. Sometimes she also shows illogical physical strength for 14 years old girl. From the example of Izumi Sawatari cosplay photos above, we could infer that her maid outfit is very cute, with a lot of detail in the lace and very hot long stockings. Izumi is the hottest and cutest maid I have ever seen.

As main character in "Maid Sama!" manga, Misaki Ayuzawa has completely different personality from the general characteristic of Japanese maid. Misaki has high level of hatred towards men because she thinks that men are very useless and less capable than women. Later, she reveals that one of her aggressive hostility to men is because of bad experience with her father who abandoned her irresponsibly. As the story develops, Misaki started to fall in love with Takumi Usui, and it reduces her hatred towards men.



Misaki is depicted as very perfect female student. She is the president of female council in her school and has all skills that make her excel in her school. Misaki has very high grade, exceptional athletic skill, and a lot of achievements as a president of female council. She decided to work as a maid in a cafe merely to help her mother and sister to earn some extra money.

Suster Astuti, that's a name of a character played by Magdalena, a beautiful Indonesian actress. She looks very cute in the nurse costume, and although this one is not completely cosplay, but her photos could be a great idea for the next nurse costume play. Anna Kurauchi probably is the cutest maid from comedy manga, "He Is My Master". She is not the main character, but indeed receive a lot of attention from the manga lovers. Probably it happens because she has the most interesting personality such as same gender love, her obsession to go to Netherlands, and her terrible cooking skill which make her even cuter. Besides that, Anna Kurauchi is also very young (not even sixteen) when she decided to work as a maid.



Anna Kurauchi costume shows the standard outfit of maid, dominated by black and white color. Creating her costume is not so difficult because it needs only small modification from maid costume that can be purchased easily. The most difficult thing is to create the cuteness expression that is very dominant in the manga by copying her body languages and behavior.

Iroha is a fighter maid, a miad from "Samurai Shodown" fighting game. Indeed, it is difficult to imagine how a cute maid as Iroha has to fight with fierce samurai and swordmen from the game. Well, don't get wrong impression. Iroha probably looks very feminine, lack of fighting ability, and has no desire to hurt her enemies; but during the battle, Iroha is completely changed into a very brave and skillful warrior. We may forget that she works as a maid because of her drastic change in personality.


Iroha actually is a crane who magically evolved herself into a human. It is a mystery to reveal her true reason to choose maid as her job. With black and white classic maid costume, it is very easy to distinguish her among other fighter in Samurai Shodown. She is probably not my favorite fighter, but as a maid, Iroha is nearly perfect.

Mitsuki Sawatari is a blond, cute, and very dedicated maid from "He Is My Master" series. She is the younger sister of Izumi Sawatari and work for Yoshitaka Nakabayashi. In the story, apart from working as a maid, Mitsuki is also a great singer and net idol. She becomes very famous because of her performance on stage, and does numerous photo shoot as well as various singing competitions. It is surprising to find out that she sings heavy metal songs, something that could be considered too manly for such a cute character as her.



One thing that I really like from Mitsuki is her golden hair. Compared to her sister, she is probably less popular but she has better quality as a maid. She is a very good planner, smart, and very good to find a good opportunity to improve herself and help her sister. Too bad that she is not involved in any type of romance in the manga.
