LKH's books are great. They have great plot and very descriptive and developed characters. She writes too descriptively in a manner where we can vividly imagine those erotic situations that's why many shy away or despise the books. I think the people who shy away when they encounter such in books are very same to the way human treat Anita in the books. We know she hardly has human friends anymore except good ol' Ted. She used to be RPIT's pet necromancer and they gladly used her expertise on occasions they needed help but when she's the one who's in trouble they raise their eyebrow and look at her like she's not one of them anymore. The same with the books. People liked the early books when it meets their morality but because of their closed minds on the later books they shut away and curse it. In truth I almost stopped reading somewhere in Cerulean Sins but I just couldn't forgive myself not to know what happens to Anita. She has her ups and downs just like anybody does.

I know I will probably get some backlash but let me say this first, I LOVE the 9 books. In fact I could hardly get myself to put them down. However, since then I have really found that I hating them more and more. As another poster put "the erotic parts have begun to overshadow the plot and storyline. I am all for sex in a book in fact I thought the leve of sex in the first 9 books was great! But ever since the arduer came into play, at such a level, I just can't seem to find myself getting into the stories. I loved the kick ass, bad ass character that Anita started out as. She was independent, strong, stubborn and had some morals. However, all the development that Laurell created in the first 9 books is now being de-developed (don't think that's a word but I couldn't think of the correct one). I really wish there was less sex and more of the plot and story that I grew to love in the first 9 books.

I love this lens. To me, that's what vampires are all about.

I have read all of the novels and while I found the sex to be okay at first, I did find that the sex began to take more prominence than any other parts of the storyline. It's not that I don't like reading about sex, it's just that endless pages of sex, which isn't particularly well written to be honest, has taken away from the otherwise sharp storytelling. Having said that, I do love all of the characters and while Anita is a pain sometimes, who admits that she's hard to live with, the men around her are interesting enough to be developed into more than just sex toys. I enjoyed the last book, however, and I'm looking forward to reading the next one.

This is a very well written and beautifully presented lens! I haven't read the series yet, but you've peaked my interest... -obviously I don't have a problem with erotic fiction and look forward to seeing what all the controversy is about.

This is the best supernatural series I've ever read. Ms.Hamilton has created the most appealing and loveable characters I've read about. The series is truly phenomenal and the sex is first rate.I couldn't live without the books.

I love this series and don't mind the erotic side of the story line at all. I think it only adds to the series and makes it better. I read the first two books and then ended up reading straight thru. Cant wait for the next book!!

Great lens. I'm working on my first novel so can't speak of the changes yet. I'll be back though!
