Knitting socks

If you're one of these people that think that knitting is for grannies and other old ladies, then I think that you should think again

Almost everybody wants be be unique,to have their own style, wear clothes that only they have.
So why not starting to get your very own look by knitting your own mittens, your own socks, your own scarf - why knot your own sweather. You can make your look superpersonal thanks to the huge variaty of yarn that there is to choose from. And when you get the hang of knitting you wont need to follow instructions, just let you imagination flow.

At my lens you can find lincs to sites with greate (and free) knitting instructions. And by looking at the youtube video posted on this lense you can learn the very basics of knitting, if you are a beginner.

I just finished a pair of new sock, they are multicolored and so pretty.
Knitting isn't just a great and fun thing to do when you're watching TV or a movie, it's very helpful for cold hands.
As soon as I stop moving around and just sit still - like when I'm watching TV my hans instantly gets cold. But if I've got something to knit, they keep warm. Because when you knit your hands are in constant movement. And if your knitting something with a woolyarn you'll become even warmer, beacuse the great thing about wool is that it can store heat and then give it back.
A wonderful material, isn't it!

So to keep both your hands and your feet warm - knit a pair of socks, put them on you feet, and begin with a new pair.

As you've might have noticed, all my socks are striped.
"Why?" you might ask your self.

The answer is simple - the best socks, are the striped socks!
It's so easy to make a nice pattern with stripes, you just change the color or fabric of yarn now and then while your knitting. You can do thin stripes or wide stripes, or mix them.

The best thing is that there are so many beautiful, "readystriped" yarns out there. You don´'t have to worry about the difficulties that you might bump into when you are trying to change yarns. You just keep on knitting and the nice,
striped pattern will just happen by it self.

The knittingguru Kaffe Fasett has designed a line of yarn especially made for knitting, and ofcourse it's all about the stripes. The socks on the top of my lens are made from Kaffe Fasett design yarn. It's a rather thin yarn so you need to use thin needles. But the result is a pair of beautifully, striped socks. They are not as thick as your "normal" pair of knitting socks. Which in turn make them perfect for wearing in a pair of tight winter boots.

Made those socks for a friend whos life is all about
hard core and strait edge lifestyle.

So maby it's not all about stripes after all;)
