Anniversary Bags

Gucci by far is the most recognizable of the featured designers.  It is also a designer brand that is coveted by the young and not-so-young alike. 

When I recently queried a friend with a college-age daughter about what was the IT bag for the girls at her school, the resounding reply:  G-U-C-C-I !

Dooney & Bourke runs a close second to the Gucci designer brand for desirability amongst young and "old" alike ... perhaps the affordability of D&B has helped it gain an edge. 

I personally find that the D&B Drawstring Anniversary Bag is a fav as I'm into the overall style of the bag coupled with the nice accessory touches of the contrasting materials and particularly the tassels!  I just adore tassels on handbags.

Fendi has a very cute baguette that you could see Carrie Bradshaw carrying on Sex in the City.  But, it's a tad bit pricey for me.

Vera Bradley's cute kisslock purse is adorable with it's cute size; it's also very colorful and affordable.

Dooney & Bourke celebrated 2005 as its 30th year of fine craftsmanship. To commemorate this milestone, Dooney & Bourke has created the Signature Anniversary Collection. This collection of select handbags and small leather goods, have a larger, more distinctive signature logo pattern.

Further distinguishing this group is the gold finished nickel hardware engraved with 'Dooney & Bourke 1975' to celebrate the company's inception.

Care & Cleaning: Anniversary Signature fabric and lining is 100% cotton. Should the fabric become soiled, use a soft toothbrush (coated lightly) with a mild soap and sodium free seltzer water to gently remove the grime. The trim is 100% cowhide in the form of Vacchetta or All Weather Leather. No soaps, creams, or cleansers should be applied to the Vacchetta trim.

It is a natural characteristic of this leather to darken over time and with exposure to light. This process allows most stains to become less apparent as the leather gradually darkens. However, the All Weather Leather may be cleaned with a water dampened cloth and mild bar soap.

Of all the D&B anniversary bags, this is my favorite by far! I adore the drawstring + the tassels. FYI ... any bag with tassels gets an extra point or two for style elegance.

The Fendi 10th Anniversary Baguette bag is quite spectacular!

Invented by Silvia Fendi, artistic director and family member, it became the key item--with the help of Sex in the City's Carrie Bradshaw--in Fendi's growth into a star international brand.

Multi-colored beaded baguette bag with double F logo on front and watersnake handle and closure. Fendi bag has an adjustable shoulder strap across top, a concealed magnetic closure, red satin lining and 'Limited Edition' bead embroidery on inside.

It was found at Net-a-Porter for a whopping $6,670.00!

The Gucci Large 85th Anniversary Hobo is a sharp example of a collectible anniversary bag.
