The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing Review
What Are "The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing"?
A Discussion of "The 7 Great Lies Ann Sieg's E-Book"
What are The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing that Ann Sieg writes about in her controversial E-book?Here they are:
Lie #1 - Everyone is your prospect!
Lie #2 - This really isn't sales.
We just share products with people.
Lie #3 - Anyone can do this!
Lie #4 - We'll build this business for you.
Lie #5 - We have the best product ever!
Lie #6 - You just don't have enough belief!
Lie #7 - The proven system.
What is so controversial about this List? What is the Truth?

Ann Sieg states the facts that 97% of the time network marketers never make a positive cash flow in their business. Only 1-2% of network marketers earn substantial incomes, according to annual reports of MLM companies and research tax preparation services. Why?
These "7 Great Lies" have continued to propel people away from the network marketing business successful monetary model. Looking at these 7 Lies in the
E-book is the best way to learn how Ann Sieg teaches from her perspective and experience how she overcame the old way of network marketing techniques and applied the new school of attraction marketing techniques. But for much interest in this subject, I will attempt to write a summary here to start a discussion.
Ann Sieg makes the point Lie #1-"everyone is my prospect" which creates enemies of this industry in network marketers' wake...to get leads they pester the living daylights out of every human being they cross paths with...all the while seeing no results for their efforts. The alternative, Ann Sieg says, is "getting the customer to come to you first" (attraction marketing).
What happens when this Lie is told? Network marketing Lie #2-"this really isn't sales, we just share products with people" is the opposite of what actually works, Ann Sieg says. The fundamentals of sales and marketing taught result in making more money, because networkers take marketing seriously and learn how to draw business to them.
I called about 100s of prospects and felt the 100 pound phone getting heavier every minute. I made appointments with them to follow up and they would be "no shows"...I got discouraged. Then, I said to myself, "what's wrong with me?" I bought into Lie #3-"Anyone can do this." I thought those people would be in my business and be good prospects. I kept calling, until I read the 7 Great Lies E-Book. I learned that I could be spending my valuable time with the right/best/hungriest highest quality people possible. And they could be coming to me!
Lie #4-"We'll build this business for you." Automated marketing systems are crucial to a successful business, but they can't do everything for you. Personal relationships and interaction will build the business and hold it together. Providing value to customers will attract them to you and will bring them back to you (me) (attraction marketing).
I think Lie #5-"We have the best product ever!" is one of the most important points made by Ann Sieg. Yes, I love my products, and so does everyone else loves theirs. So, what do I do? Focus on learning "sales" because sales is the only activity in business that actually brings in cash. Marketing is missing in network marketing and most needed to massively market your business. Ann Sieg's The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing free E-book, The Renegade Network Marketer, and Mike Dillard's Building on a Budget are examples of marketing leader examples.
So many times I went to seminars and have heard Lie #6-"You just don't have enough belief!" If I could just get a big enough "why", drum it up, jump up and down, get excited, feel like I should know the answers, figure it out by such and such a date...If I could just measure up. Maybe I should go to another meeting, buy a CD, read another book...What? There is another alternative? I read in Ann's 7 Lies, paraprased: Stop worrying about the belief and concern myself with the real nuts and bolts of how to market a business and find the people who are looking for what I have and use an effective marketing system to automatically sell to them for me, and then spend my time working with the best ones.
Lie #7-"The proven system." This is like saying, yes, follow, the "old plans". Well, the "old plans" have proven not to work, or there would not be as many people with so little cash flow.
To summarize, the answer to "The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing" comes in the words "attraction marketing".
