Anoles - Wall-Walking Lizards!
Ranked #6,049 in Pets & Animals, #150,354 overall
Even if you aren't, these fellows will be climbing the walls!
Fascinating critters, the anoles.
The anoles are small lizards of the subfamily Polychrotidae of the family Iguanidae. There are four common genera of anoles: Anolis, Norops, Phenacosaurus, and Polychrus.
Anoles are frequently mistakenly called chameleons or geckos--most likely because they can alter their skin color and run up walls. They also are sometimes mistaken for skinks. However, they are not closely related to any of those groups--they are more related to iguanas.
This Squidoo lens will describe more of my experiences with these interesting critters and will give you tips about how to handle them. Read on for some more fun!

Unlike the Geckos, Anoles are More Daytime Critters!
Except, when there's a lot of bugs available and the lizards are hungry, you'll occasionally see anoles hunting at night and geckos hunting during the day.

- My neighbor asked for help, saying she had a baby alligator in her screen room. It was only an anole with it's back ridged up like when they fight.
