Anorexia Self Help: Make a Note of This Useful Information

If you are looking for anorexia self help and this illness is destroying you, or if you are a parent, family member or friend of a sufferer who is desperate for information and guidance - then there is a lot of information available to guide you through the healing process.

Here Is a Good Place to Start
There is a lot of information on the Internet teaching people (frighteningly) how to BECOME anorexic as well as lists of anorexia treatment. However if you start without a good sense of where you're going - you could be wasting your time and even make matters worse.

An excellent starting point to discover all you need to know to guide you through the healing process can be found here > > > Anorexia Healing

Although it is a mountain to climb, and it will be challenging, it is not a mountain that will beat you if you are determined. And that goes for the person who lovingly cares for the sufferer as well as the Anorexia sufferer herself or himself.

Why not add your anorexia or bulimia story below - so that others may learn and understand more about your struggles and successes . . .

Anorexia Self Help : The Point of Your Return

At what point do you decide to stand and fight against your anorexia? Which day and hour is the point when you feel that need start to creep over you and take a hold?

Of course - for some - that day never comes. All over the world there are people dying by their own reluctant and confused hands. But many reach a point where they stretch out and ask for help.

This is a big moment. And at last you are not alone with the problem.

But the road back from your private Hell is going to be long and tortuous.

Anorexia Self Help : The Art of Deception

Someone suffering from eating disorders will go to extraordinary lengths to trick people into believing they are OK about food. For example - they may:.

1) Find many things to do - to keep fully occupied. This is a deliberate way to use "busy" as a means of avoiding food, hunger and meals.

2) Throw large amounts of food away or never fully finish a meal.

3) Hide uneaten food in pockets, boxes or bags - to dispose of later. These hohoards of food may be hidden under the bed or in drawers and cupboards until it is safe to dispose of them.

4) As a deliberate distraction, start watching other eat while taking a keen interest in what is eaten. This might also involve encouraging them to eat more.

5) Start cooking elaborate meals - to pretend there is a keen interest in food - while actually avoiding eating the end product.

6) Take a sudden keen interest in cooking and food preparation while someone else cooks. Often found hanging around in the kitchen and asking questions and showing enthusiasm to discuss culinary methods. It's all a ruse to divert attention away from the fact they are not actually eating anything.

Anorexia Self Help : Heartfelt Notes from a Recovered Anorexic

The following are notes from a recovered anorexic with bulimic tendencies. The reality and determination in these truths shows just how far she had travelled from chronic eating disorders to developing a new healthy relationship with food

Notes for the Future
- Feeling your emotions will not kill you. Trying to numb your emotions by restricting food and binging and purging can only harm you. It's perfectly normal to feel sad, mad, happy, or depressed at times. Life is jam-packed full of lows and highs.

- Talk about your feelings to someone you trust. Perhaps a family member or a friend - but not another eating disorder sufferer. Doing this will help you to get through your emotionally difficult times.

- You need to be open and ready to receive help. Nobody can force you to get better. Unless you recognize that change is possible - you will not start to recover.

To make a first move in anorexia self help - whether for yourself or someone you love - you will need guidance and a plan to stop you sliding backwards.
