Anorexia and Bulimia Treatments

Anorexia and Bulimia are both devastating diseases...not just for the person suffering the illness, but for their friends and family members too. After watching a daughter suffer through bulimia for years, I thought it would be good to have a lense where others suffering from these disease could share their thoughts and hopes for a better future.

When you continue to perceive that you are plump and overweight despite your ostensibly wasted figure, then, think twice! If you strive hard, successfully restraining yourself from eating, causing hunger bouts to pass by and finding yourself numb to the sight of any gastronomic feast, then it is time to put up the red flags! Any normal person would love to eat! Deliberate starvation can cause ill- effects to the body, not just physical but also emotional and psychological harm.

Are you eating less and less just to be lanky and skinny? You may not be aware of it, but Anorexia or Anorexia Nervosa is an eating disorder that causes someone to say NO to food just to achieve the self-declared goal to be thin! Do not get trapped in this anorexic condition! While there is time, talk to someone today and be assured that there is treatment to Anorexia.
One the other hand, if you also happen to devour food in overwhelmingly huge amounts just to have that self-gratification and then, manage to purge in the end, you need help! Bulimia involves the destructive and repetitive process of bingeing (over-eating) and purging (can be vomiting, taking laxatives and diuretics) just to avoid any unwelcome weight gain.

Conditions of Anorexia and Bulimia are alarmingly real, but given the appropriate intervention and treatment, there is definitely a way out!

Anorexia and Bulimia Treatments: Together We Will Overcome

Anorexia and Bulimia are conditions that are both psychological and physical in nature. It starts with the wrong notion that being as "thin" as can be is being the best-looking gal in town. Being stout and round is utterly disgusting and fighting to keep fit and trim by not eating at all is the most effective way to do it.

However, we all know that the person who gets so engrossed with this notion becomes an anorexic, a once full-bloomed woman, slowly wastes and withers away right before our very eyes. What is worse is having a loved-one entangled in the web of anorexia. Would you allow them to be completely overpowered by the deceit that anorexia and bulimia brings?

You can do something about this condition. It is not at all an easy task. It takes some time, patience and a dose of faith and prayer. A professional counsel or a therapist can also be a great source of comfort and assurance that Anorexia and Bulimia has a way out. Surely, with the help of family, friends, doctors and therapists, there is cure. Together, we will overcome!
