Is There Such a Thing as an Anti Aging Cream Scientifically Proven?

I have earned my wrinkles and bald head and grey fringe. I sport them with a bit of defiance too. And a bit of regret too, because I sometimes let all the "youth culture" advertising and media portrayals get under my skin.

If I am not careful, I can get caught up in the search for the Fountain of Youth advertising for skin care products, and it has been my experience that those things are a waste.

When I was in college I watched my buddies rub in conditioner, and smooth on gels and potions, and they, if they are still alive, are just as bald or wrinkled as I, so who benefitted from those purchases?

Ahhh, the manufacturer you say, and that is correct. It would seem to me that my buddies bought into the media message that said they would be a bit ahead in the mating game if they bought products like that.

And now it seems to me that manufacturers of skin creams are advertising the same theme to us baby boomers, sort of buy this product and look like the silver fox in the commercial, and the older women will flock to you.

The older women I know are not so niave as to be influenced in their relationships by gels and creams, and if we consumers begin to look at the ingredients used on cosmetics, there are some real problems for our health.

For example, it seems that the preservatives used in most cosmetics, or parabens, actually cause the free radical damage they proclaim to prevent.

In fact, recent press in Japan has noted that methyl parabens, natural preservatives used in most skin care systems, can actually speed up the aging process.

So why would a 59 year old guy, a guy well aware of the changes in libido and body that come with this stage of life, but a guy who lives life fully as a counselor, father, husband, and businessman be curious about anti-aging skin creams scientifically proven?

Because there is a brand new product line coming to the market place made by a company whose products I have used for eight years. I have watched this company and they have worked diligently to sustain their committment to providing scientifically validated products to the market place. The scientific validation comes in the form of a U.S. patent (and over 20 international patents) in a brand new field of study called glyconutrients.

The company is Mannatech and Mannatech is bringing their Optimal Skin Care System to the marketplace April 1, 2007. I take heed when an institution like MIT asks Mannatech to participate in forums about technologies that can change the future of medicine, like glyconutrients.

So Mannatech says that their optimal skin care system is based on several break through technologies that help our skin repair itself to a level of vibrancy appropriate to our age. (Notice that you will not cover up "flaws" nor will your skin be like it was at 30).

One of those technologies is called "clustered water" which makes it unneccessary to include methyl parabens or preservatives in the product because no fungi or bacteria can grow in "clustered water". (Perhaps you did not know that those things could grow in your cosmetics without the preservatives).
