What's In That Stuff?

Emblica functions as a potent antioxidant and chelating agent. Antioxidants are substances or nutrients in our foods which can prevent or slow the oxidative damage to our body. When our body cells use oxygen, they naturally produce free radicals (by-products) which can cause damage.

Natural yes...

There is a lot a person has to think about when they are buying products to care for the skin. I went last week to find something for my husband, as he had been having problems with dry skin on his face. I stood there for almost a half an hour and still had no idea what I should buy, even though I do know a little about these products. I would guess that I am not the only one who has had this problem. Even worse, I know a little about the skin care ingredients that should be in a product and what can be done without. This did not make my choice any easier.

There are many claims made about what skin care products can do, and some of them are not true. Though collagen is indeed the key to healthy and smooth skin, you can't get this by applying it to the surface of the skin. If one of the skin care ingredients listed is collagen, that's all well and good, but it is not going to do much good. Collagen must come from within the body or it's not going to benefit the skin. Many claim that this helps but you can't get the benefits from a topical lotion.

Other skin care ingredients can help with dry and wrinkled skin, but the best they can do is moisturize. Even though many have vitamins, even that is iffy. The best skin care ingredients are the ones that moisturize the skin to help it remain moist and supple. Though this might not take care of wrinkles, there really isn't much yet that can. The best way to avoid these its to take care of the skin from within with a good diet and by drinking plenty of water.

Besides a great moisturizer, you want your skin care ingredients to include something like EMBLICA in some cases. Emblica is great for the skin, and can help the aging process. If you can find a great skin care lotion that has sun screen in it, this is a plus as well. This can help keep sun from damaging the skin, and that is one way to prevent some wrinkles in the first place. Wrinkles are a fact of life, but some get them worse than others, and some can be prevented. Just remember to see through the hype when thinking about skin care ingredients so you aren't spending a lot of money on a product that does not do what it claims.

Younger Looking Skin

...and keeping it!

Though you find some men that worry about aging and wrinkles, it is something that women worry about so much more often. Having younger looking skin is something we worry about for many reasons, but mostly because we want to remain vital looking and as young as possible. In a world where youth is king, it is not a surprise that young looking skin is an issue for some women as young as thirty.

One big problem is that men may feel distinguished, and most women find that men get better looking as they age, but that does not hold true for women. While that may not be true, or at least it should not be true, that thought is ingrained in our minds for some reason. Getting younger looking skin is something that you may obsess about, but it does not have to be as hard as you may think. Many lifestyle issues can help, along with a few well thought out beauty routines.

If you see something you don't like when you look in the mirror, think about some of the things that you do every single day. If you smoke, that is going against your quest for younger looking skin. Find out what you have to do to quit. That is just one of the very good reasons to kick the habit. You should also think about other toxins that you may be putting into your body. If you are really serious about reversing the signs of aging, and more youthful skin, you may want to go with more natural and organic foods.

You should also remember that the sun works against having youthful looking skin. If you were someone who laid out in the sun a lot when younger, you may have damage that is contributing to how your skin is looking now. Though there may not be a lot you can do to reverse that type of damage, you can prevent it from working against you in the future. If you want more younger looking skin as you age further, make sure you are wearing a sunscreen on your face each day. There are makeup brands that now offer that in their products, and some moisturizers do as well.

When it comes to products for younger looking skin, you have to see what works for you. Some work well and others do nothing. That depends on your skin at times, but there are some that claim to do things that no product could do. You should realize that though your skin is resilient, some things can not go on topically. Think about how skin works, and test the ones that you think would be worth your time for younger looking skin. You may pay more for a good product, but if it works, you are certainly getting more for your money.

AGING DEFINED

Intrinsic aging, is a continuous process that normally begins young. Within the skin, collagen production slows, and elastin has a bit less spring.

Extrinsic Aging is the distinctive declination process caused by external factors. Most premature aging is caused by sun exposure.

Photoaging is the term dermatologists, caused by exposure to the sun's rays. The amount of photoaging that develops depends on a person's skin color and their history of long-term or intense sun exposure.

Sagging Skin- Inevitable or Avoidable?

Sagging skin comes from a few different things. One would be gaining and losing excess weight. The effects of this are unique for each person. Some people just naturally have more resilient skin. If they put on 50 pounds, they obviously have more skin. If the access weight comes off, the skin can do two things. It can shrink back, which is of course, ideal. It can also hang there without much elasticity. This can have something to do with age, but not always. Some are going to have sagging skin and others are not. It's the simple truth.

Another common reason why some have sagging skin is pregnancy. The large stomach associated with pregnancy grows quickly, which means skin stretches as it grows. The skin does not always sag once weight is off, but it can sag elsewhere. The breasts can grow quite a few sizes during pregnancy, but they always go back to the regular size. Some swear they shrink even smaller in some cases. In that case, there can be sagging skin on the breasts as well. This can also happen under the arms and on the thighs if more weight was gained during pregnancy.

Sagging skin comes with age. Though regular exercise can help ward this off, it is going to happen eventually. It does not always happen at the same ages for women, as it cannot happen until the 80s or even the 90s are reached. It depends on the woman, her habits, and her genetics. The skin will sag in the same places that it would sag in the above situations. There is really not much you can do about this. Those that have remained slim their entire lives may not have as bit of an issue with it, but there will always be some sagging skin with which to contend.

If you have sagging skin, there are a few things you can do. The results that you get will depend on your age. If you are younger, you can do a lot with a regular exercise regime, though there is not guarantee it will fix the problem. Every little bit helps, however. You can also go about getting surgery that can remove the sagging skin. You are going to be left with a small scar in some cases, but this type of skin removal can really be helpful in making someone look and feel a whole lot better about themselves.

Hiding Your Age

Of course, we will all do everything in our power to prevent and reverse the signs of aging, but some things take time, are some things, sadly are inevitable. Wrinkles will come, and with good skincare products, they will look smoother and not as deep. Even after drastic improvements however, you may have SOME wrinkles. So the best way I have found to combat aging is through the magic of makeup.

When you were in your twenties, you probably noticed that wearing makeup tended to make you look older. As you approach your thirties and forties, you may have found that all of that has started to change. When you put makeup on and look younger, that means that you should be wearing more makeup on a more frequent basis. Going bare just isn't going to cut it anymore, will just show exactly how tired looking you are. So what are the tricks of the trade to make you appear young again? Well, I'll tell you.

First off, you probably live a busy, stressful life like the average person. It's not biggie, it's just a part of life. So you probably don't get all the sleep you need which then shows through the dreaded eye bags. When it comes to makeup, you should always conceal your eye bags. Find an under eye concealer thats a shade or so lighter than the colour of your foundation and you're good to go. Either apply it with a brush or your ring finger, since it is the weakest finger, and will therefore not pull at the delicate under eye skin, which could cause even more wrinkles. Yikes!

Next, always make sure you have a good foundation. Find the colour closest to your skin; too dark will make your skin appear dirty, and too light will make you look worn and sallow. Totally unhealthy looking! Next, get in the habit of using highlighter, which will be your absolute best friend makeup wise. Apply the highlighter to the outside crease of your eyes going upwards, and also to your cheek bone, and under the arch of your brow. This will make your skin look more taut and overall more luminescent.

Next, don't wear too many shimmery colours. Shimmer and sparkle will make your wrinkles and any other imperfections look more prominent. Opt for deeper solid colours that compliment your face. Always use a good mascara! A good cheek and lip colour is also essential, as it will make you look healthier and more lively. nothing too dark or bright though! A good natural peach or pink for both does the trick. With all these makeup tips in mind, you'll look as lovely as you did in your youth.
