Anti Christian Quotes

Ranked #2,084 in Culture & Society, #47,649 overall

I've made a lot of pages with religious and spiritual quotes: Christianity, Taoism etc. On each you can submit your favorite quotes yourself. However, some people insist on submitting quotes that have no business there: anti-religious quotes. So I made a page to host them. For now this is not a lot - anti religious sentiments aren't exactly my thing. But then, I wasn't raised religious, so I don't have parents and teachers to fight with on this one (and if I did, it would be the other way around).

Still, feel free to submit your favorite anti-religious quotes.

The church says the earth is flat, but I know that it is round, for I have seen the shadow on the moon, and I have more faith in a shadow than in the church.

Ferdinand Magellan

An atheist is a man who has no invisible means of support.

John Buchan

It ain't the parts of the Bible that I can't understand that bother me, it is the parts that I do understand.

Mark Twain

So, do you believe in God?

Christianity versus other religions

Personally, I would not give a fig for any man's religion whose horse, cat and dog do not feel its benefits. Life in any form is our perpetual responsibility.

S. Parkes Cadman

As a friend of mine* once said, quotes from Karl Rove aren't important for what they say. They are important for what they reveal. Rove's statements about Sunday's Super Bowl ad from Chrysler are a case in point. By now, you've probably seen or heard ...

According to Pascal, there are two propositions: God exists, and God does not exist. Pascal proposed that before placing your bet, you should consider the four possibilities:

    1. If you choose to believe in God, and if God exists, you go to heaven: your gain is infinite.
    2. If you choose to believe in God, and if God doesn't exist, your loss is finite and therefore negligible.
    3. If you choose not to believe in God, and if God doesn't exist, your gain is finite and therefore negligible.
    4. If you choose not to believe in God, and if God exists, you will go to hell: your loss is infinite.
