Anti Smoking Posters Can Help Spread The "Stop Smoking" Message!

Globally, 1 in 5 young teens (aged 13-15) smoke cigarettes. Can anti-smoking posters help raise awareness and turn this trend around? I was motivated to write this page after reading that alarming 2009 statistic. For me, it raised the question, how can individuals spread the message? And one solution was anti smoking posters hung around schools, workplace and even home

More alarming than the above statistic, worldwide nearly 40% of children are regularly exposed to second-hand smoke at home while 31% of the deaths attributable to second-hand smoke occur in children. And if that's not enough, children who are regularly exposed to second-hand smoke at home are almost twice as likely to start smoking than those not exposed.

Here is a collection of some of my favorite anti smoking posters.

An autopsy technician once told me, "When we open a 40-year old smoker we find an 80-year old person inside." Thank you for publishing this lens. It's an important topic.

I regret to say I am still a smoker-Back 35 years ago it was cool to smoke and there was little said about health effects. I have seen the cigarette packets from Thailand and the horrific images would stun you.I feel adverts like such is the way to go.

A picture is worth a thousand words and a good anti-smoking banner is priceless. But I don't know if a banner is enough to get someone to quit.

If only smoking weren't so addictive and if we knew it all before starting. You have some high impact posters here that I haven't seen before, especially the one that says kids shouldn't smoke with a very pregnant naked smoker puffing away. Well done! My sister once collected all the ashtrays from the Special Ed building at her university and brought the stack to the presidents office in the 80's, you just brought that to mind.
