Valentine's Day has a lot of controversy surrounding it. It's a day to celebrate romance, dedication, love, and devotion. But who created it? Why do we have to spend lots of money to prove our love? Was Valentine's Day created by corporations to boost weak winter sales, or is it a legitimate holiday dedicated to all things romantic?

I love Valentine's Day. My husband and I usually pick somewhere to have dinner together without our kids ( we only do that a few times a year ). This year we're my 8 year old son with us to a Japanese steakhouse. We're all going to get dressed up and go out together, Chrystian(2) will be with my mom.

Valentine's Day is a joke. It's only around so businesses can make some money off of people. Most men don't even put effort into it...buy flowers, a card and candy...nice work there Romeo. You should be showing your love and appreciation for the other person in your life every day, not just on a day when you feel "forced" to do so.

I hate Valentine's Day. All the advertises for people to spend their money on cards and flowers that will just get thrown in the trash and all those useless cute little stuffed animals that they sell just for Valentine's Day. It shouldn't even be a holiday.

Valentines day has never been a big day in my family, often times we forget it completely, I don't think I would go so far to say it sucks and go anti, but I do miss the point of this holiday other then a huge spending spree! :)

- I wouldn't say I hate it exactly but I do think people have too many expectations about Valentine's Day. I especially don't like the fact that men in particular never give a Valentine's gift without expecting something in return,if you know what I mean.I don't think that's very romantic. Squidangel blessings for this Anti-Valentine lens.
