Why You Should Be Careful Of Skin Care Home Remedies

If you're on a tight budget but still consider skin care to be one of your top priorities, then perhaps you might be interested in knowing more about skin care home remedies. Do-it-yourself (DIY) skin care is easier than you might think, and typical home remedies can be cost effective too, especially when considering some of the high-end brands of skin care products out there in the market. But before you embark on a particular DIY home remedy, there are a few things you need to be wary of, because just like how certain chemicals contained in commercial products may be absorbed into your skin and potentially harm you, the natural ingredients that you might end up using may also cause you more harm than good.

When using soap, try not to use a cheap soap just because you want to be thrifty. A good soap doesn't have to come from an expensive, popular brand. Castile soap is preferable for normal skins. If you have oily skin, use potash soap, but careful if you don't; this particular soap may irritate dry skins. Medicated soaps might sound like a good idea, especially if you have a particular skin condition, but such soaps should only be used on doctor's orders. Clean water and mild soap with natural ingredients would be your best choice when washing your face.

If you're currently using day or night creams to moisturize and/or exfoliate dead skin cells from your face, do note that cream is not a substitute for soap and water. You may think that prolonging the application time of a cream may maximize its effectiveness, but you need to remember that your skin also needs to breathe. While some creams may exfoliate and cleanse the skin's outer surface, if left on the face for too long, creams may clog skin pores. It may then exacerbate into blackheads, sallow complexions, and other skin afflictions. The best natural home remedy is to simply wash your face a minimum of twice daily to prevent clogged pores. But again, do note that washing your face more than twice a day may remove natural oils from your skin's surface, thus drying it out and irritating it, which may lead to blemishes.

If you make your own home made cosmetics at home, be careful how and where you store them. Keeping them in the fridge near raw food products - meat especially - may potentially contaminate your home made skin care products, and you might end up using contaminated cosmetics which would no doubt do you more harm than good. Also, it is imperative that you only use the freshest ingredients when making your own home made products, as anything spoiled or mouldy may have adverse effects on your skin. Lastly, keep in mind that most fruits contain Alpha Hydroxy Acids, so when making your own skin care products from fruits or fruit extracts, do note that the pH level of the ingredients may vary, and thus it may be possible for you to experience acid burns, especially if you have sensitive skin.

While skin care home remedies may be cost effective and simple to do, these are just some of the precautions that you will need to take note of before you embark on any DIY skin care remedies on your own. There are many other tips and advice out there on the internet that you can refer to, but such guides are not meant as substitutes for expert medical advice from your physician or dermatologist. Consult them before embarking on any home made remedies that you might be interested in trying out.

Amazing Tools That Every Skin Care Kit Should Have

Are you someone who is concerned about looking good? Is skin care an essential part of your daily routine? If you're someone who is serious about skin care, your skin care kit should already have the essentials. But do you really know what every serious skin care kit needs? If not, read on.

These days a lot of people are concerned with looking good. The "beauty" industry has grown exponentially because of the demand for beauty products that can reverse the damage inflicted by time, and quite a bit of money and effort have been put into researching sustainable methods of enhancing or even just maintaining natural beauty. As such, the market is saturated with an inundation of preventive beauty products and even products that tout to be "miracle cures" that has the ability to restore one's youth and vitality. With so many choices, how can you tell what you really need, and how can you separate the good from the bad? Here are just some of the essential that every woman's skin care kit should have.

Eye cream. Because the skin around your eyes are thinner and more delicate than any other part of your face, it is important that you invest in a good eye cream to protect this particular area from being subjected to elements that might cause the skin to wrinkle. Elements such as the sun and free radicals tend to negatively affect the production of collagen, which is a protein that maintains the skin's firmness. The breakdown of this protein results in the loss of elasticity of the skin, and therefore wrinkles and fine lines would start to appear.

Sunscreen. Sun damage is one of the leading causes of skin aging, and it has been proven that prolonged exposure to the sun's ultra violet rays will result in skin cancer. So it is absolutely vital that one of the products that should be included in your skin care kit is a good sunscreen. You can either use a sunscreen on its own, or find a facial moisturizer that already has an adequate SPF included. These type of facial moisturizers tend to have a more make-up friendly, more luxurious texture than usual sunscreens, so it is quite possible for you to look good while you protect your skin at the same time.

Vitamin E cream. Vitamin E is rich in antioxidants, and helps in the battle against free radicals, offering protection against pollutants and toxins in the environment. This particular vitamin also aids greatly in enhancing and maintaining the immune system. When combined with a daily moisturizer, a vitamin E cream can boost your body's intake of antioxidants and vitamins that are required for repairing skin tissues and the prevention of skin cell damage. Vitamin E also helps in the rejuvenation of deteriorating cells by providing the necessary substances that nourish and encourage cell growth.

So does your serious skin care kit contain these 3 basic necessities? Obviously there are many other tools and products that complete a skin care kit, but with these 3 basic tools, it's enough to get you started, and you can never go wrong with these 3 basic tools.

I agree that ?Sun damage is one of the leading causes of skin aging, and it has been proven that prolonged exposure to the sun's ultra violet rays will result in skin cancer.? But because we tend to engage in tanning activities like sunbathing and tanning bed sessions, this is sometimes ignored for the sake of beautiful and younger looking skin. So, my advice for all tanners out there is to just use sunless tanning products in order to avoid premature skin aging and the risk of developing skin cancer.
