Non Surgical Face Lift - Back To Youth with No Sweat and Tears

However inevitable ageing might be, not many discard it as a part of life. Perhaps the most dismaying part of ageing is that it takes away the suppleness and elasticity of the skin, which was primarily responsible for your young and stunning looks. Ageing means a time for facing reduction: production of collagen responsible for elasticity of skin reduces; production of estrogen responsible for a woman's handsome looks reduces. And this is not all. The facial muscles sag giving way to wrinkles and lines. Even that glittering smile is now smeared with lines of all shapes and sizes which surround the mouth. This is inconceivably disturbing to many - and they run to get it all fixed. Some even resort to surgery. Yet not many are as brave and for them, the only option is a non surgical facelift.

Never for a moment believe that a non surgical facelift is a poor man's choice to look young and beautiful again. Though the expenses involved in a non surgical facelift, in comparison with a surgical intervention are far less, this does not mean that one has only cheap options available in this category.

For instance, one of the first options in the category of non surgical facelift is the laser facelift. Though some people mistakenly club this procedure as another kind of surgery, in reality it is from it. Here the doctor rectifies the outer surface of the skin and smoothens it with the help of laser rays. The big advantage in this procedure is here the doctor is at liberty to control the depth to which he wants the laser to reach. This procedure also deploys a mass of collagen along with the laser - this is called the collagen matrix. This procedure ultimately revitalizes the production of collagen, leaving you with a smooth and youthful skin.

One of the biggest benefits of any non surgical facelift is that it is completely risk-free and the recovery time is almost negligible. This is because in a non surgical facelift, there is no incidence of any blood loss, incisions, stitches and uses minimal amount of anesthesia. At the most, a patient might feel soreness and irritation specifically at the area where the laser treatment, as mentioned above, has been carried out. But such after effects only stay for a very short time. A micro-current facelift is yet another kind of non surgical facelift procedure where the doctor simply transmits a small amount of electric current under the skin, to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin.

It is to be noted that only a few non surgical facelift methodologies are discussed here. For more information, go to non surgical facelift recipes

Facial Cream: Choosing the right one

People use a brand of facial cream to get rid of dryness of skin. The dryness which you face when you are young in age is very different from the dryness that occurs when you have become older. In fact, when one is young, any good brand of facial cream is capable of yielding the desired results. However when age catches up with you and your face now shows the early signs of aging - you have to be careful of the facial cream that you choose as most of them would not be able to restore the age-related damage especially the dryness, for which you bought the product.

It might interest you to know that our skin is soft and supple because of two important skin proteins, generated by the skin cells. These proteins, called collagen and elastin, play a critical role in keeping our skin young and glowing. After we have reached 30 years of age, the production of these proteins gets significantly reduced. With time, you gradually notice that your skin has become thinner, dryer and fine lines start to appear. This is how wrinkles are formed and the primary job of a facial cream is to reduce the lines and make the skin soft and supple again.

The rationale behind the 'right' type of facial cream is to locate a brand which contains ingredients which has the capacity to go deep under the skin layers and trigger the production of collagen and elastin. The facial cream ideally should give a boost to your own generation capacity of these two essential skin proteins.

The first point that you need to ignore is when a facial cream announces that it contains collagen, as the skin normally would be incapable to absorb external collagen as they are large molecules, which is actually impossible to be absorbed. Collagen can only be produced by the skin cells which lie beneath your skin and that is the only source of collage production. Once the collage production is given a push, your skin would return to its normal soft and glowing look.

Coming back to the question on how to choose the right facial cream, you need to choose brands which are made with natural or herbal ingredients. It could well contain some kind of mineral oil as the primary moisturizing agent and this could harm your skin in the long run, though temporarily you would appreciate the glow, etc added to your skin. Mineral oils help in clogging the skin pores by its thickness and can hamper the natural skin processes. When you do not allow the skin to breathe, the value of the facial cream is lost and in stead of skin restoration, it harms the skin. Be careful that you do not land up with a facial cream that does more harm than good.

Facelift Defined

A facelift, technically known as a rhytidectomy (literally, surgical removal of wrinkles), is a type of cosmetic surgery procedure used to give a more youthful appearance. It usually involves the removal of excess facial skin, with or without the tightening of underlying tissues, and the redraping of the skin on the patient's face and neck. The first facelift was performed in Berlin in 1901 by Eugen Holländer. According to the most recent 2007 statistics from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, facelifts were the seventh most popular aesthetic surgery performed after liposuction, breast augmentation, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), breast reduction, and rhinoplasty.

In the traditional facelift, an incision is made in front of the ear extending up into the hairline. The incision curves around the bottom of the ear and then behind it, usually ending near the hairline on the back of the neck. After the skin incision is made, the skin is separated from the deeper tissues with a scalpel or scissors (also called undermining) over the cheeks and neck. At this point, the deeper tissues (SMAS, the fascial suspension system of the face) can be tightened with sutures, with or without removing some of the excess deeper tissues. The skin is then redraped, and the amount of excess skin to be removed is determined by the surgeon's judgement and experience. The excess skin is then removed, and the skin incisions are closed with sutures and staples.

Facelifts are helpful for eliminating loose skin folds in the neck and laxity of tissues in the cheeks. The areas not well corrected by a facelift include the nasolabial folds and perioral mounds marionette lines which are more suitably treated with Botox or liposculpture, respectively. A facelift requires skin incisions; however, the incisions in front of and behind the ear are usually inconspicuous. Hair loss in the portions of the incision within the hair-bearing scalp can rarely occur. In men, the sideburns can be pulled backwards and upwards, resulting in an unnatural appearance if appropriate techniques are not employed to address this issue. Achieving a natural appearance following surgery in men can be more challenging due to their hair-bearing preauricular skin. In both men and women, one of the signs of having had a facelift can be an earlobe which is pulled forwards and/or distorted. If too much skin is removed, or a more vertical vector not employed, the face can assume a pulled-back, "windswept" appearance.

Facelifts are effectively combined with eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) and other facial procedures and are typically performed under general anesthesia or deep twilight sleep.

The most common complication can be bleeding which usually requires a return to the operating room. Less common, but potentially serious, complications may include damage to the facial nerves and necrosis of the skin flaps, or infection.

Contraindications to facelift surgery include severe concomitant medical problems. While not absolute contraindications, the risk of postoperative complications is increased in cigarette smokers and patients with hypertension and diabetes. Patients are typically asked to abstain from taking aspirin or other blood thinners for at least one week prior to surgery.
