The Secret Science Of Skin Care and Aging
A few excerpts from my free report
The SciencePicture this. You stretch before getting out of bed in the morning. You drag yourself to the bathroom and take a look in the mirror. "Ahhh!", you gasp as the image looking back at you suddenly seems older.
You look closer and notice fine lines around your eyes, a slight crease above your brow, and a deep line that only used to appear when you would smile.
What happened? Well, several different things may have caused your "new" look, but they all come from the same root cause - let's take a moment to look at some of the science of aging and the skin.
Collagen is a long string protein fiber. It is found throughout the body in everything from cartilage to blood vessels to the skin. The skin is the largest, and most visible organ of the human body. No wonder the appearance of unsightly wrinkles can be so depressing. Collagen, along with elastin (the cells that provide stretch and resilience), and keratin to some degree determine the elasticity of the skin. As the skin loses elasticity wrinkles begin to appear. It is the breakdown of collagen that causes wrinkles.
What causes the breakdown of collagen, elastin, keratin and premature aging of the skin? Here are the main causes...
Time - Let's face it. We all get older. Each cell contains messengers that signal when they no longer need to run at full capacity. This is called aging. While you cannot stop the march of time, you do not have to let it march over you either.
Heredity - Along with time, the one element of skin care you cannot prevent. Additionally, it is next to impossible to predict the impact heredity will have on your skin. Even though you won't be able to change your parents, you can work to counteract what they have passed on.
Stress - Modern life has its share of stress inducers. Hectic schedules, traffic, work, family, recreation, finances, and trying to balance it all are high on the list. The brain releases chemicals in response to stress. These chemicals have the benefit of helping your body get through the stressful event, but these same chemicals also release cell-destroying free radicals; that can negatively effect the skin's appearance.
Sun - Notice that wrinkles appear first where sun exposure is most common. Mainly, the face, neck and hands. Think about where your skin is the smoothest and you will find a direct correlation to the fact that those areas have received the least amount of sun over your lifetime.
Alcohol - Drinking too much contributes to the breakdown of collagen and causes wrinkles. Alcohol consumption also effects the blood vessels, thereby creating temporarily red or puffy skin. Chronic alcoholism, however, can make the wrinkles, redness, and puffiness nearly permanent.
Poor diet - Eating too much sugar, processed, and junk food has a devastating effect on your skin.
Smoking - If you smoke, quit. Why would you pay any corporation to give you yellow teeth, stained fingers, bad breath, and wrinkly skin? The benefits of quitting are nearly endless where your health is concerned.
Environmental factors - Chlorine from swimming in treated pools dries out the skin and robs it of its suppleness. Pollution puts many different chemical compounds in the air which can contribute to poor skin. Allergies create different reactions, some of which appear as rashes or other skin blemishes. While allergic reactions are most often temporary they are can sometimes lead to scarring if left untreated. Work, depending on what you do, can expose you to skin damaging chemicals.
Those are the main causes of wrinkles and other skin damage. Knowing the causes leads to the solution, or solutions. Maybe a better way to put it is that the following list are techniques that have been used with varying degrees of success. Here is a list, along with some of the pros and cons, of different methods of treating or preventing wrinkles.

LifeCell South Beach Skin Care
This Stuff Works Where Others Fail!
We would all like to able to totally remove the wrinkles that we have acquired through the years but sometimes this may not be possible due to various reasons. The cost of removing wrinkles with surgery is costly or if you are like me I prefer more subtle ways than to go under the knife.
Although we try the best we can some wrinkles are just stubborn when trying to vanquish them. So in cases like this our only option other than surgery is to conceal the wrinkle.
Until now there has never been a product that would totally conceal wrinkles without looking like you had a ton of make-up on. Then came along Lifecell South Beach Skin Care.
LifeCell conceals the wrinkle by eliminating the shadow. A wrinkle is only clearly visible to the eye because of the shadows created by nearby light sources. LifeCell uses a new breakthrough technology that diminshes these shadows thus making wrinkles virtually invisible in seconds!
LifeCell South Beach Skin Care is not a snake oil cosmetic product like many of you may have seen or tried, I have purchased a few of these myself.
LifeCell does not claim to be a miracle wrinkle remover. It is a concealer and the best on the market I may add.
While we cannot remove all wrinkles completely without expensive surgery we can conceal the ones we cant diminish.

Diet Plays A Major Role In Skin Care
What you eat can make you look older!
Processed Foods and Their Affect on SkinWhen food is cooked and processed, it loses vital
nutrients. When you eat processed food, you don't get all the nutrients your body needs to function efficiently.
This leaves you less healthy, and it shows in your skin. If your skin cells aren't properly nourished, they don't look as good. You're also more prone to acne and other embarrassing infections.
Im not talking about a strict raw food diet but eating more raw fruits and vegetables. raw fruits and vegetables contain live, active enzymes that help you digest your food more efficiently and improve your body's functioning and your overall health. And remember, the healthier you are, the healthier your skin will be.
Many people who increase their intake of raw food as opposed to cooked notice a positive change in their skin. Raw food can help to reduce wrinkles, age spots, eye bags, and even acne, leaving your skin beautiful and radiant.
We all know that when we're tired, we look worn down, our skin is duller, and we just get a haggard appearance. Having proper digestive enzymes from eating raw, live fruits and vegetables helps speed digestion giving use more energy from our food. When we have more energy, we feel and look less tired.
In order to look good, your skin needs to be healthy. This means proper nourishment and fewer toxins. This can be achieved with a healthy diet including fresh, unprocessed foods.

Skin Care Hints, Tips and Tricks
This is a list of twenty-two common and obscure skin care tips. These cover most aspects of skin care. Chances are there is at least one you have never heard or thought of on this list.Use a lip balm with an SPF of 15 or to keep them moist and protected from the sun.
Try wrapping duct tape around warts for 5-7 days. Remove for a day. Repeat as needed.
Besides keeping legs elevated, stay active to prevent the pooling of blood that leads to varicose veins.
For a luxuriant treat get rose petals from your local florist to add to a warm bath.
Install a water softener to combat dry skin and softer skin overall.
Though they may seem soothing long hot showers rob the skin of its essential oils.
Wash your face using warm water instead of hot.
After showering pat yourself dry instead of rubbing vigorously. Your towel should be used for drying off, not exfoliating.
Make a promise to start taking better care of your skin, from the inside and out, right now.
Moisturize after bathing while the skin is still slightly damp to lock in moisture.
Use an extra pillow while sleeping to elevate the head and reduce bags under your eyes.
Buy wraparound sunglasses with full UV protection to minimize crow's feet.
Educate yourself about some of the main ingredients, natural and synthetic, found in skin care products. As a well-educated consumer you will be doing your skin a favor by selecting the products with the ingredients that will work best for you.
The best way to 'treat' freckles is to accept them as a part of what makes you special.
To reduce itching caused by eczema try applying a cold compress or taking a cool bath.
Aspirin taken as soon as you think you have sunburn will help the blood flow better, thereby possibly reducing its severity.
Even mild soap can be too harsh to use to wash your face. Look for soap-free and moisturizing cleansers instead.
You can tell when all traces of makeup have been removed when there is no residue left on your cleansing pad or cotton ball.
Unfortunately, just because a product claims to be hypoallergenic does not mean it will not cause an allergic reaction in you. You may still have to try several products before finding one that works for you.
10 Rules For Perfect Skin
1. Know your skin type. By knowing what your skin type is you will know how it should be taken care of. Take for instance someone with dry skin, they wouldn't want to take especially long and hot showers or use alcohol much on their faces. They would want to use warm water and moisturizers instead.2. Keep it clean. There are millions of bacteria, viruses, germs, dirt, etc. everywhere we go. By keeping it clean you decrease your chances of getting these things stuck in clogged pores, and then turning into facial blemishes. It is best to also wash your hands before you touch your face.
3. Wear sunscreen everyday. The sun can burn your skin even when you are not in the direct sunlight. Even during the winter months or overcast days you need to use sunscreen to make sure the UV rays do not cause any trouble with your skin.
4. Eat organic. Organic foods have less pesticides, and growth hormones than other foods. Organic fruits and vegetables, therefore have more vitamins and minerals inside them than non organic fruits. The more vitamin E you can get out of your fruits, the healthier your skin, which can benefit greatly from Vitamin E.
5. Watch your diet. If you eat too much food that has fat in it, or even a certain food that had way too much fat in it, it is not good for your skin. You should therefore watch what you eat, and make sure you do not eat more than your daily recommended amount.

10 Rules For Perfect Skin
Second Part
Continued From Above6. Exercise. You should get enough exercise not just for your health, but also for your skin, by allowing your skin to sweat you are helping it to clean out your pores, and all the bacteria and dirt in them, however you should be careful not to exercise too much, because the sweat and bacteria can build up and become worse. It is also best to take a shower and clean your face, based on skin type after exercising to reduce the risk of acne.
7. Quit smoking. By smoking yourself or by being around others that smoke around you, you are in effect smothering your skin, and not allowing it the oxygen it needs to breathe. You are also adding more bacteria, and garbage to the air around you. This air settles on your skin, and into your pores, causing acne.
8. Be careful of new products. Every new make up or lotion you use has some new chemicals for your skin to adjust to, the less you introduce new products, and the fewer extra chemicals included the better for your skin, and the lower your risk of being allergic to it.
9. Try facial steams. If your face gets specifically dirty, oily, dry, etc, take a towel and a hot pan of water and steam your face. This helps to open up your pores and clean them out.
10. Avoid stress. Stress can cause you not to sleep, to eat too much or not enough, and many other things, such as acne, and skin problems. When you are under stress and let it effect you, your body extracts fewer nutrients from the healthy food you eat, and distributes fewer of them to parts of your body that need them, including your skin.
