The Gatherings Antique Vintage has a lovely collection of ladies adult clothing and apparel, from the Civil War era to the 1940's War Years. Antique and vintage fashions here at The Gatherings Antique Vintage include hoops and bustle back dresses to the Gibson girl look at the turn-of-the-20th-century.

You will also find the hobble skirts to the lovely lawn dresses from the Edwardian (Titanic) age, gossamer lingerie dresses from a little later period that seem to truly float when worn.

Still more vintage fashions ~ those glorious flapper dresses from the 1920's, bias and glamour dresses from the 1930's to the War Year clothing of the 1940's. We also carry exquisite antique and vintage fashion accessories such as shoes, parasols and other fashion necessities of these era's.

The Gatherings Antique and Vintage Victorian through 1940's collection of hats, bonnets, purses and handbags is one collection that is a must to see! We have a wide variety of ladies and children's hats and bonnets dating from the Civil War through the Victorian, Gay 90's, and the War Years of the 1940's.

We carry a hand picked selection of black silk crepe mourning bonnets, hats made of straw, silk, felt, feathers and other materials. Occasionally we carry a beaver or other type of fur hat.

Our selection of bonnets is simply exquisite. We have fancy baby and children's bonnets made of fine laces, embellished with fine embroidery work and just 'adorably sweet bonnets'. Amid it all, the chances of finding an early prairie sunbonnets made of calico or homespun is a distinct possibility!

The Gatherings Antique Vintage carries antique and vintage purses and handbags from the Civil War era through the 1940's. Enjoy many materials including the ever popular lucite! Look for cloth drawstrings in crochet, lace and embroidery work, miser bags of the Civil War era, lovely beaded and metal bags ~ oh, so many styles with gorgeous decorative accents.

The Gatherings Antique Vintage is very pleased to be able to offer you antique and vintage lingerie, sleepwear and ladies undergarments from the mid 1800's to the 1940's. In the middle to late Victorian era a lady's undergarments would consist of a pair of stockings, drawers, a petticoat or multiple petticoats, corset and camisole.

The dawning of the 1890's to 1910's became known as the "frills" period in lady's undergarments or lingerie as it was beginning to be called. Froths of lace ruffles worked with beautiful embroidery appeared more frequently on ladies undergarments than during the decades prior but not to the extent as at the end of the Victorian era.

The closing of the first decade of the 1900's saw undergarments not only changing in style but also in fabrics as man made fabrics appeared. It was only the beginning of the wave of the future.

Garments were then made of natural fibers, such as cotton and silk. During the first decade of the 20th century rayon and rayon blends made their appearance. Followed yet by other man made fabrics.

Antique and vintages ladies lingerie, sleepwear and undergarments have traditionally enjoyed being beautifully embellished with embroidery, fancy needle work, handmade laces and machine laces, with further touches of silk and rayon ribbon accents.

The Gatherings Antique Vintage is very pleased to offer you absolutely exquisite antique and vintage collars, cuffs, handkerchiefs and scarves dating from the early 1800's through the Victorian and Edwardian era's right up to the 1920's. We offer a wide range of elaborate to simple styles of collars and cuffs made from fine lace, embroidery or other needlework, both hand and machine.

Handkerchief's from these more genteel times are made of fine embroidered lawn, handmade and machine made laces, embellished with lovely monograms, printed florals and charming souvenirs.

We have hankies for men, women and children plus gorgeous handkerchiefs for special occasions including bridal and wedding.
