We feel the overwhelming nervous tension when we go to apply for job's, going on first dates, even just walking up to another person in the room to start a conversation. These feelings can be considered normal under these circumstances. The problem is when these feelings get in the way of what you do in your everyday life, they become a major problem. They can become an anxiety attack It can ruin relationships, stop you from achieving your goals and become the catalyst for all that is wrong in your life. I am not a doctor or specialist, I am a college student and I wanted to put a stop to the nervous tension within me early so it would not effect me in my future career. I wanted to control it and I wanted to control my life. If you feel the same way, I welcome you to read this and I hope you get some kind of direction out of this article.

The battle begins...
Lets stop this enemy. Let's be the selves we long to be, the self that has anxiety that can be controlled and taken away. The self that doesn't stammer on words or speak to low on a date. Let's be the self brimming with confidence and able to say that I overcame that anxiety and I am stronger because of it. Many others have and you can too, its not impossible. Lets start with the basics...
Step 1: Know Your Enemy
1. Pounding Heart
2.Chest Pain
3.Social Phobia
4.Nervous and shaking
5.Constant Headaches
6. Sweating
7. Fatigue
Keep in mind that some of the symptoms on the list are normal in most situations that may make you feel nervous but if you constantly feel like the problem is reoccurring to much in your life or you feel psychical pain from the anxiety attacks then maybe you should take precautions and see your doctor.
Step 2: Face Your Problems
Try to know what makes you feel as though you are going to have an anxiety attack. You must learn to curve the feelings you have and not let it take a hold of you. The thing that makes most situations worst is that we give ourselves time to think about the situation. The thoughts that usually come along with this are negative thoughts, we get so overwhelmed in these thoughts that they take a hold of our feelings and we expect the worse. If we learn to curve those thoughts into positive ones, we will be able to control the inner feelings that we have when faced with a nerve racking situation. You are the ultimate controller of your feelings. Being able to control them makes you a stronger person and with that, you will feel much better.
There are ways you can control the anxiety the moment you start to feel it happen. If you haven't, give yourself a few minutes and breathe but don't just breathe, think about what made your anxiety come about and what you can do to solve the situation. If you don't act positively you will never be able to overcome the anxiety. No one will reward you for sitting around feeling down all the time nor will you feel better with all the nervous tension building up inside of you. The only way to lessen the effect it has on you is to experience it once, that way the next time you are faced with a similar situation, it won't be so bad. The goal is to learn from your experiences, live in the moment and stop worrying about the outcomes.
Sometimes people tell you to try therapy, you may shrug and scoff about how it doesn't work but the reality is, it worked for someone otherwise they wouldn't be telling you. Maybe it will work for you so if you haven't tried it, why not. You are not the only one in the world that is faced with anxiety attacks, people can tell you how they used to have anxiety attacks and how they got rid of them, you too can be one of them. The thing you want to remember is to have patience, you will feel a lot better if you live in that moment and not think about any negative outcomes.
