Are You Really Suffering From Anxiety Effects or Just Stressed Out?

Anxiety effects emerge in so many ways, often simply by living in this fast paced world of ours. So we need to recognize when we have 'anxiety effects' and when the experiences we're having are the expected result of modern life.

Anxiety effects are revealed as both physiological and psychological. And the extent of the symptoms differs immensely according to the person. GAD, general anxiety disorder is a condition that, although it develops slowly, it can become a full blown complex.

Do you have any of these anxiety effects?

Psychological Anxiety Effects
The psychological anxiety effects are those that influence the way you see things and think about things and often lead to behavioral changes. There is a long list of effects but I have made a list of the main ones.
  • Undue restlessness
  • sense of dread
  • feeling edgy
  • hard to concentrate
  • irritable
  • losing patience easily
  • easily distracted

    Physical Anxiety Effects
The physical anxiety effects may appear to be some fairly common experiences in many people. That is true. If there is an occurance of one of these more than normal or several together, then that may be an indication of anxiety.
  • lethargic
  • pins and needles
  • palpitations of the heart
  • achy muscles
  • dry mouth
  • profuse sweating
  • shortness of breath
  • stomach ache
  • diarrhoea
  • headache
  • very thirsty
  • needing to urinate frequently
  • painful or missed periods
  • insomnia

  • Other Anxiety effects
As well as the obvious psychological and physiological; effects of anxiety, there are many that are not so obvious.

Symptoms such as shaking, hyperventilation, repetitive movements of your hands or feet such as pacing or tapping and difficulty in expressing yourself are indications of behavioral anxiety.

Cognitive anxiety effect on the other hand manifest as morbid curiosity, difficulty in both concentrating and in simple problem solving. In extreme cases it becomes difficult for the sufferer to function at all.

Experiencing panic, exaggerated fear and extreme agitation are signs of emotional anxiety that could lead to a full blown panic attack.

The extension of these effects can manifest as projecting the cause of your anxiety onto someone else or something else as if they or it is responsible for your anxiety. In the early stages it is still possible to understand that it's a projection of anxiety and not real, but after a while when the condition becomes more firmly rooted, it is very difficult to understand that the anxiety is not really the fault of something or someone else.

Always remember that there are anxiety treatments no matter how entrenched it has become. And with the huge increase in the number of people experiencing anxiety, there has been a corresponding increase in both the availability of treatments as well as the type of treatments available. The first requirement is to get an anxiety test followed by some kind of treatment. Anxiety doesn't have to be part of your life.

You are right... there is a difference between anxiety attacks and being stressed out. This is why it is so important to see your family doctor to rule out more serious underlying conditions so you can focus on the best treatment to relieve your symptoms.

      Good job on your lens!

      warmly,
