Stop Panic Attacks

Trick Your Mind

Techniques to stop even the worst panic attacks:

1. Close your eyes, select a place you feel most comfortable at. Then an activity you like to do. Walk yourself through the steps of entering that desirable place and then through the activity you enjoy doing there. The key to success with this technique is to imagine fine details. For example, if your enjoy playing cards, picture yourself entering a card game, holding the cards, shuffling
the cards, competing against other players and winning. Remember positive thinking - there are no bad situations in this technique.

2. Cold showers. The colder the shower the better this technique works.

3. Tell yourself out loud, thank you anxiety for warning me something could be wrong, but right now I am sitting (whatever your actions are when the panic attack occurs) and nothing is wrong with me. I appreciate your concern. This only works if it said aloud.

4. Finally, stay busy. If your mind is concerned with the environment around you, it wont have time to deal with your anxiety.

These techniques force your mind to think about something other than your panic attack. During a panic attack your brain thinks irrationally, these techniques will allow you to pull yourself back out.

Your First Steps to Beating Anxiety

The beggining of the end of your anxiety suffering.

The very first step is to announce to your self that you are on the very first step. You are now on your way towards conquering your anxiety and panic attacks. This is something that you should tell yourself daily for atleast the first week or more. No matter what doctor/therapist you see, book you read, or program you join. The message is always the same, you have to fight against your anxiety. Fighting, and not giving in, to your anxiety is the ultimate key to beating your anxiety and panic attacks. I can't promise you any overnight cure or even something that will only take 28 days. This is a battle you will fight it could take a week, 3 months, or a year. The good news is you have all the power to determine how fast you heal.

You have to get obsessed with killing the monster that is anxiety and panic attacks. Live and breathe the fight! Doesn't it sound better to always be thinking of kicking the crap out of anxiety, instead of always thinking of how it's kicking the crap out of you?
How do you get obsessed? How do you live and breathe the fight?

That part is easy. The hard part is having the discipline and determination to follow through. I don't know about you, but I didn't like panic attacks and anxiety very much. I was willing to do ANYTHING to get it out of my life. I went out and bought books, cds, tapes, videos, and scoured the web for even more information. You have to know your enemy inside and out in order to beat him at his own game.

One of the first things I learned was that people with anxiety disorders have very sensitive bodies. Meaning an eye twitch can sett off thoughts of going blind, or the slightest signs of a headache suddenly inspire thoughts of brain aneurysms. So first you have to start watching what you put into your body. Sugar, caffeine, ciggarettes, drugs, alcohol...they are all stimulants. Stimulants effect your nerves, heart rate, breathing...well just about everything in your body. To an anxiety and panic attack suffer those slight changes can bring on massive panic attacks. Where as a non-anxiety victim, my wife, can slam down cans of Mountain Dew all day, with no adverse effects.

Start eating healthier. Just about everyone needs to anyway, and I'm not saying go on a strict diet. Just choose your food and drink carefully with your anxiety in mind.

First Steps Continued...

A big mac, super large sprite, and large fry is probably not going to make you feel like the healthiest person alive after a few hours. Not only will you be cutting out all those stimulants which can cause higher levels of anxiety, but you will also know in your heart that you are just all around more healthy. Knowing you are eating healthier and living healthier gives anxiety less weapons to use against you.
"A gun is harmless without it's bullets"

The next step is to learn how to breathe correctly when anxiety and panic levels rise. Theses feelings spiral out of control not only because of your thoughts but because you start holding your breate for minute seconds and your breathing becomes unnatural. This decreases the oxygen in your blood, telling your brain that you are in immediate danger.

When those negative thoughts come in and they start beating like a card in a spinning bicycle tire.

1. Replace each negative thought with 3 positive ones
2. Practice smooth relaxed beathing techniques. In through the nose, out through the mouth. DO NOT PAUSE AND HOLD YOUR BREATHE!

These techniques I have just wrote to you about are to cut the weapons that anxiety uses against you away. Your mission now is to get obsessed with learning how to beat and control your feelings, thoughts and moods. GET OBSESSED! Buy every book, join all the programs, and find others that have either beaten their anxiety or medical professionals that can help you on your journey. Don't you deserve a better quality of life?
Onwards and Upwards,
Justin

Anxiety and Panic Attacks Guides| How To Help A Loved One

Just the fact that you are here reading this article means alot.

Being there is one of the essential things an anxiety and panic attacks sufferer really needs. This time of their life is so very scary and they feel alone and as if they are not normal anymore. By showing them that you are there for them when they need you you will eleviate those feelings over time. You have an opportunity to strengthen your relationship ten fold and really pull each other closer through this episode of their life.

It is so important for you to learn as much as you can about anxiety and panic attacks, so that you can understand what they are going through. You will never truly understand if you have never lived through a panic attack and dealt with un-ending thoughts of when the next one is coming. However, if you learn as much as you can about this you can learn to understand what is happening. Anxiety is basically living in fear all day every day, and fear makes you think irrationally. You need to understand that their thoughts alot of times will be irrational and how to bring them back to a rational state of mind WITHOUT stressing them further then they already are. It is a big job and I commend you for your preparedness to take this on. Your loved ones will benefit greatly from a person like you.

Learn... so that you can understand!

The key to helping a loved one with anxiety and panic disorder, lies in reassurance techniques.

You have got to learn how to get them thinking rationally again. Not with your own thoughts, but how to manipulate the sufferers thoughts. I use the word manipulate here and I mean it in a positive way. I am not to sure how to put these techniques into my own words, as I was the one recieving the help. So what I can do is tell you things my wife and family did for me that worked wonders.

My wife learned that I needed to hear it from a professional or someone I truly trusted my health too. So when I would ask her if something was wrong with me she would say things like "I think you're fine but what do you think Antoinette (my therapist back then) would say about your symptoms right now." I would then, in my minds eye, see myself explaining to my therapist that I have a headache that I think is turning into a brain aneurisym. I could see her explaining how rare that actually is, and that I am young and eating healthier now so they likely hood of that is rediculous. Even though I did not have a professional around at the moment, my wife was able

Continued....

to bring one to me through manipulating my thinking patterns. 99% of the time this worked instantly. My mind told my body I was ok because as far as my mind knew, I just spoke with my therapist and she said I was ok! haha I know sounds kinda crazy, but the mind is a crazily powerful organ.

Another thing my wife would do was to ask me specific questions in return to the "am I ok" question, I would ask her. Ok that sounds more confusing then it is. This is how it would play out. I would aks her if I looked ok, and she would say back, "you look fine nothing has changed in the last hour. What was the name of that song you and Jason (an old buddy) used to listen to over and over again, when you guys rode around in your old car? This would break my mind free of the negative thoughts I was thinking, so that it could think about her question. Even though it only broke my thoughts up for a few seconds, that is long enough to reset the brain. The trick is to ask a question that will inspire a positive thought(s). She got really good at this and learned how to always have an arsenal of comebacks. If I made a comment about how good a restaurant was or a commercial I liked, she immediately logged it in as a, "brain breaker," as she called them.

You will have to learn as many techniques as you can to help your loved one with their anxiety and panic attacks. Using just one technique over and over will become "he is just using that stupid technique to get me to shut up." We know you are trying to help and that it is not easy to live, with someone going through this time in their life. Its not our real self that is making us think these super negative thoughts, it is the anxiety talking. Just like alcohol can make people say things they don't mean, anxiety can have the same effect. I cherish the fact that you are trying to help your loved one, they truly need it. You must learn as much about anxiety and panic attacks as you possibly can, to help them the way they need to be helped. I tell anxiety sufferers to get obsessed with learning about and fighting anxiety. This goes the same for someone trying to help out a loved one. I wish you and yours the best.

I would say the best way to learn about anxiety and panic attacks is to do it together with your loved one. They need as much positivity as they can get right now. One thing I loved was my wife would sometimes surprise me with helpful products geared towards anxiety and panic attacks. She once heard of a anti-anxiety

self help system being offered on the radio with a 30 day free trial. She called up and secretly had it sent to the house. I was so shocked the day it came in and then really blown away when she offered to go through it with me. It was a week of total positivity and we became so much closer. It felt more like best friends hanging out then it did husband and wife. Today, Jokingly she says " I just didn't want to read the books and listen to the tapes by myself!" haha... It is true though, self-help programs can get very boring and monotonious.

Everynight before bed we would listen to one of the tapes or read a chapter together in the book. For those that have a hard time sleeping (most anxiety and panic attack sufferers do) this is an amazing way to help. It sets up such a positive and helpful mood right before bed. Which re-trains the mind that night time is not so scary. If you'd like to know where to find great anti-anxiety programs and books, without worry of buying into one of the many SCAMS out there. I have set up links under the menu item "support" at my website, NewAnxietyCure.com." These are the best of breed programs and books out on the market today. Don't forget to send me a thank you note at my site NewAnxietyCure.com, when your nights turn into blissful happiness!

About MpyreDzirez

Written by me with tongue in cheek (true story though)

Once upon a time...

There was a young kid digging ditches, installing fiberglass, and installing FRP panels in restaurant kitchens. This kid's name was Justin Brooke. He hated to sweat and dreamed of a day where his only job was to sit in a big comfy gray crushed velvet chair and all his work was done through the phone.

One day the big boss hoss came out, seeing this kids ambition and intelligence, asked Justin if he'd like to try out a position inside. Inside meant management and sales!!!

While Justin was teased by all his older macho friends still outside sweating and bleeding for a living...Justin excelled in sales. He had a natural talent for discovering the true sales objection and explaining why it was irrelevant.

Justin dove head first into the world of sales taking new jobs, opportunities, and promotions - Buying book after book on the subject. Till one day he realized "Hey, someone else is sitting back collecting the other 65% of the money I'm bringing in."

Back to Barnes & Noble, Justin bought book after book on starting his own business. He realized that by owning his own business and doing the sales for himself he could get 100% of the commissions!

Today Justin Brooke is the owner, founder, leader of Mpyre Marketing. A full service Internet marketing agency. Self taught in web development, marketing, and search engine optimization - Justin took Mpyre Marketing from a $2/day budget to now an award winning, six figure a year business.

Justin says, "Six figures is our starting point. I wanted to get to here just as a goal that would tell me - ok, I know what I'm doing now. From here we want to hit 8 figures and then it'll be time to implement our exit strategy."
