Any Soldier
Our organization: How It Works

We have "volunteer" soldier contacts who sign up on our site as a contact for their unit. They come from all branches of the service, male and female, and are volunteering their time to distribute the packages that are sent from our volunteers.
Volunteers can adopt a unit, and can even adopt more than one. Your commitment to to support that group for the time they are deployed. They will list what folks in their unit need most. The site will also allow you to search by what people have asked for if you have something specific you want to send. Searches can also be done by state or branch of the service.
Your support allows our volunteer soldier contacts to give something to someone who may not receive much in the way of mail from home. It is a way to show our troops that we appreciate their sacrifice and that we remember.
Five things you MUST know about us
A note from the lensmaster
- The efforts through Any Soldier are completely voluntary. The military contacts are volunteering their time as well to be sure that the things sent get distributed.
- You can select the unit you want to support. Go online, read a bit about them, browse the site, select the one you want and you are set to go. Don't forget that there are women serving as well and be sure when you select your unit that you note how many people are in that unit and whether they are male or female.
- This is a great project for school classes. How about having your class read the site, pick a unit, and make cardsand write letters for them.
- The most important thing you can provide? YOUR SUPPORT! These folks need to know they are not out there alone and that they are supported.
- You do not have to send a box, a simple letter works well too.

Donating to Any Soldier from the Lensmaster
When I set this lens up, it was my hope that Any Soldier would become a Squidoo charity. Because of some challenges they have had as an organization, they have a policy to not work with Paypal, which is the only way they can receive donations here. Still, all is not lost. This is a great organization, with lots of ways you can get involved and you can do donations directly on their site. I hope you will consider it!Donate Now
